Obligatory #4. I should've mentioned it.

That's a horrible fit (Miles).

Schiano has ties to the area and would make a heck of a lot of sense. Miles is not building a program. Miles needs a program that's pretty established just down or loses a coach late to scandal (i.e. Baylor) or NFL.

For example, if Dantonio retired all of a sudden. Miles would be a great choice. If a Baylor or Missouri situation presented itself...Miles would be a great choice.

If someone at a middle/bottom of the top 25 team left for a bigger job and that job came open...MIles would be a great choice (i.e. UNC or WVU or Pitt...Okie St. and Ole Miss fit that mold but are unlikely for obvious reasons).

IMO, Miles is the perfect candidate to take you from 8-4, 9-3 into a 10+ win seasons. Or if you've had recent success and just had a really down year...he could probably get you back. But he's not taking some bad, rebuilding, or middle of road team and building it up. (Too old, name doesn't carry the weight it once did, most kids aren't going to flock to play for Miles at a lesser program).

Miami (NTM) is a nice story this year. Started the year 0-6 (including a loss to Eastern Illinois), then won thier last 6 to get bowl eligible.

Pretty nice turnaround, led by outstanding (former GVSU) head coach Chuck Martin. 2 wins in year 1, 3 in year 2, and now a bowl game in year 3!

What do you expect?

However...here's my viewing schedule for bowl season. I'll watch Maryland because of B1G and NC State and Vandy is sneaky intriguing because NC State was in 3-4 games they lost this year and Vandy is surging under Derek Mason who's a solid coach (and who we want to replace Don Brown down the road).

Which my answer is always the same....

You're right, there are too many bowl games. But there are far biggest issues in the world and in college football. Meaningless games between medicore teams isn't the end of the world. It means nothing, you don't have to watch...I'd prefer to watch this over SportsCenter for the 4th hour today, so leave me be.

I hate that argument. If people were trying to act like this game matters, like everyone should care...then I understand. But no one does. This is like MACtion during the week...watch if you want, if not, go watch Fixer Upper and Modern Family reruns. But those of us watching aren't trying to make it MACtion the "Game of the Week" --- we just want to watch college football.

But don't tell me there are too many bowls games and then turn around and tell me you want an exhibition game in the spring or a preseason game in the fall.

Tell the players of these teams there are too many bowls. That they don't deserve the experience. Tell em to their face that they play bad football and don't deserve it. Like many others say; don't like, don't watch. Indeed tits need to be calmed...
