100 days from kickoff
Reading this post has about half the excitement of a non-rivalry, non-tournament basketball game or any other college sport for me. Often imitated, never duplicated. Football will always be top dog no matter how bad it gets.
You had me until "no matter how bad it gets".
What, no jersey with 100 on it?
Just you wait. Michigan fans (Slippery Rock scores, etc.) are suckers for "tradition" even when it reaches the point of stale / uninspiring / both.
Tomorrow someone will leave us a "There are ..." post like a frosted turd.
What's wrong with a "there are..." post? It's off topic season and you and everyone else knows fully what the post is before you click on it so you can easily bypass it so you don't want to see the "frosted turd."
I like the countdown and buildup to football season. Even when the team may be a frosted turn on the field.
I liked it the first year it appeared. Clever and original. After that it wasn't either. Same with the reciting of Slippery Rock scores.
I won't click on it. It's unlikely that it will displace anything I'd want to see in the board list on the main page, but it IMO it's a waste of space.
I was watching a Mexican Liga soccer match on one of the over the air channels the other night and there is a player on one of the teams whose jersey number is 194. I shit you not.

What are you drinking?
[] Strychnine
[] A craft beer
[] My own piss
Do I mark myself down for my own piss if I used it as an ingredient for my fecal delight smoothie that I'm downing right now?
Necessary? Is it necessary for me to drink my own urine? No, but I do it anyway because it's sterile and I like the taste.
You haven't lived until you've had it in a frosted or frozen drink, similar to a frozen margarita you would find at a mid-range Mexican restaurant. The difference would be that it can be considerably saltier and it would definitely have more "zing".
To quote Officer Bimbeau in "Hollywood Knights", as he drank the urine-tainted punch:
"Does have a little wang in it. Good though."
At a certain large manufacturing facility, there was a tradition of offering a "root" Coke to any supervisor that thought he was better than the personnel he supervised. Certain employees would stir said drink with their special swizzle stick. The next worst thing was a "conversation" in the parking lot with those that thought you needed a good "conversation".
I have the least excitement about Michigan football since becoming a fan in 1983, and I think that is a good thing. "Expectations are premeditated disappointments". I think I will probably enjoy this season more than any of the previous five because my expectations are so low.
Our analytics guy not understanding compounding was a nice chuckle
60% of the time we're disappointed all of the time.
Ironically I was thinking of the exact same thing.
"Good. Twice the pride, double the fall."
...the 50% of me that's stupid; that's 100% you.
I've been coming to this circle for about five years, and measuring it. The diameter and the circumference are constantly changing, but the radius stays the same. Which brings me to the number 5. There are five letters in the word Blaine. Now, if you mix up the letters in the word Blaine, mix 'em around, eventually, you'll come up with Nebali. Nebali. The name of a planet in a galaxy way, way, way... way far away. And another thing. Once you go into that circle, the weather never changes. It is always 67 degrees with a 40% chance of rain.
Waiting for Guffman will always get a +1
Can't wait to see this again!
Think I'll but Tix for the Washington game...
I’ve never been so ambivalent about an upcoming season. I’ll probably watch most games and maybe even go to 1 or 2, but that feels like it’ll be more out of habit than anything. Definitely feeling numb about football right now
Posts like this have seem to become more frequent as of late. Not saying they (or yours in-particular) aren't genuine, but I have a hard time believing all the people who are posting on a Michigan sports blog in May at 1:00 on a weekday, won't be watching the football team on Saturdays. Not fully buying it.
Or we have nothing better to do. I'm wasting time at work like many others.
Fair enough. It’s a fairly slow day at work and i even said I’ll be watching most/going to some games - it’s just that there’s not much excitement/anticipation at this point. While I’m sure that’ll build up a bit over the next couple months, football has been disappointing over the last decade plus, so it makes sense that people (myself included) aren’t super amped about the upcoming season.
I think DetroitBlue is more right than wrong
Came here for the whining and was not disappointed.
Can I have some cheese with my whine?
That is just depressing.

I'm still excited but since '17, I know we don't have a chance of beating OSU and winning the B1G. I just hope we see improved play, especially on offense and 8 wins would be nice, and playing OSU close would also be nice.
