'97 Michigan v. OSU Pre-Game Video
We've seen Keith Jackson's 100th game intro recently on the board. Why not pull out this goody to remind us of what it felt like to be on the "summit." We need to remember the past two years, not forgetting the lessons in humility that we have learned; but now it's time to appreciate that we ARE the leaders and the best...
(yes, I was bored while working and decided to drink some Maize, wait, Sun Kool-Aid)...
Great video, but my biggest takeaway - that team had a lot of high-performing juniors and seniors on it. Heck, that video featured a bunch of All Big-10 caliber players who were all seniors. I know that it's be said before, but you don't win with freshmen and sophomores, but with upperclassmen who have been in your system and can play their positions.
We're getting there. This is why I always get frustrated when people call for Rich Rod's head. Regardless of the fact that he still may not pan out, if we get rid of him we're in for another couple of years of playing underclassmen.
I feel that's the worst attitude to have. It's a lazy attitude. That though our current coach may fail, we should just let him stick around because it'd be a mistake that would take too much work to correct.
2011...
I look at 2012 (Tate/Denard Seniors) and 2014 (Gardner RS Senior) as the years where we will be top 5 teams.
If we go 6-6 this year or something, everyone's going to be calling for Rodriguez's head, but if we get rid of him we're giving up what's got incredible potential to be an awesome next couple of years.
I'd just like to point how ridiculously young LC looks in that video.
...is like the Presidency. It ages you fast.
It's a good thing Rich Rod is already bald, because if he had hair when he got here, he wouldn't now.
That will get you jacked up.
