TomVH: Big Chill Visitors
This will be the home of the list of visitors for the Big Chill this weekend. As always, it will grow and shrink as I confirm some names. Here's who I have so far.
- IL OL Chris Bryant - Likely won't make a decision on this trip, although it's not out of the question. He has a few concerns with the coaching situation, and isn't sure when he wants to make his final decision.
- MI DE Anthony Zettel - He will wait to make his decision likely until after Michigan makes theirs about the coaching situation.
- MI LB Desmond Morgan - This may be his final visit before he decides. He has interest in Northwestern too, so they could get another visit. I wouldn't be surprised to see him make his decision shortly after this visit.
- Commit OH OL Jack Miller
- Commit MI OL Jake Fisher
- Commit OH DL Chris Rock
- 2012 MI DT Danny O'Brien
- 2012 MI DL Matt Godin
Names have been moving on and off this list, so I'll keep updating as I hear more. If you have heard any names you would like me to confirm go ahead and throw them out there. I will try to confirm or deny them as fast as I can. This should be a pretty cool event for the recruits to attend, and I know they're all excited for it.

only four? and out of those one already a commit, and two more probably not deciding...
:(
if i were the coaches i'd be getting as many recruits as i could to this game!!

i'm sure they're trying. it is a unique recruiting opportunity.

Since the season ended and they have a few weeks left, the coaches have probably all gone on vacations with their families.

that a lot of our recruiting targets are not going to be overly impressed with the idea of attending an outdoor hockey game, world record or not.

There would be something kind of cool, if I were a recruit, about watching a game at Michigan Stadium with the football players. I'm sure a bunch of those guys will go, and it should be a good scene.

There's a reason this list consists of all northern prospects.

Tom -
Any news on whether Dyson Blades has qualified this year?
December 8th, 2010 at 2:04 PM ^
His grades suck.
December 8th, 2010 at 1:59 PM ^
With the tenuous coaching decision still pending it's not surprising of the short list.
December 8th, 2010 at 2:01 PM ^
Thanks for the update TomVH. I'm really hoping all three of those are part of this class. All three fill positions of need for sure.

Prior to Dee's de-/re-/?- commitment, wasn't about half the team planning to visit for either the Big Chill or the weekend after for an official? Is that still on?
December 8th, 2010 at 5:17 PM ^
of recruits. Any news on Bridgewater? Or is Tanner McEvoy the back up QB plan now.
December 9th, 2010 at 4:55 PM ^
Seems a lot more likely. He's got Michigan in his top four, and is more of a developmental prospect at QB (this is his first year). Bridgewater is a very long shot.
December 8th, 2010 at 8:09 PM ^
Reel em in boys. All 4 are important to this class.
December 8th, 2010 at 9:24 PM ^
We need some numbers to bolster this class. Keep the visits coming

Zettel and Bryant are maybe the two biggest recruits (figuratively) left on the board, we need to impress those guys even if they don't commit.
Also, Desmond Morgan would be a great addition, he's this year's Jake Ryan.
December 8th, 2010 at 10:52 PM ^
We have a solid DL coming back in 2011, but will need this guy ready to blend in by 2012.
Don't know what the recruits are really thinking but everything points to RichRod being back in 2011.
Sparty had their once-in-a-generation season and still got STUCK IN THE CITRUS BOWL, which is laughable.
I don't usually root for the Bucks, but sure did when they got in ahead of Sparty for the 2nd B10 BCS bowl.

At this point I would much rather have OSU do better than MSU. Kinda sad because MSU used to be just an annoyance that came up during bball season. This losing streak to them has to end quickly before it gets unbearable.

Don't link to bleacher report. And don't get excited over that either, whomever wrote that clearly has no inside information at all.
Things wrong with the article:
A) UVA does not have a legitimate shot with Grant.
B) He never mentions OSU as a player, or LSU. Or UNC. Or even Virginia Tech.
C) It appears as though the one article he chose to read was an interview from Sam Webb on Scout. From GBW. And no others.

Yeah, all those thoughts went through my head, I was just being hopeful, and the rivals article about him today dashed those hopes

Hey Tom what's the deal with th DP kids are they not going to make their big visit up here or what?
December 9th, 2010 at 4:01 PM ^
They're waiting until after the playoffs to reschedule.
December 9th, 2010 at 4:45 PM ^
Who does that entail now? Is Gallon still coming up despite his legal/disciplinary problems? Are we still going after Monroe? Is HaHa still bothering to come up?

on the DL does Matt Godin play?
