WTKA Roundtable 1/6/2022: The First Bus to Mars Comment Count

Seth January 6th, 2022 at 10:59 AM

Things discussed:

  • The Orange Bowl: Georgia was just really good. Stetson Bennett was great.
  • UGA had us scouted perfectly. Harrell vs their TE, two TDs each on Colson and Vincent Gray.
  • UGA’s talent was a game-changer.
  • Georgia fans were nice—Let’s have a home and home with them?
  • Cade vs JJ: Sam’s ready to go McCarthy now, but we all expect a competition, and a result.
  • Love for this team.
  • Break: Harbaugh talk. If Michigan can’t get transfers in or compete on “NIL” they’re not ready for the next phase of college football.
  • Hoops: This team is an easy scout. They need a wing.

Harbaugh isn’t going to the NFL, but if he does, he’s going to Jacksonville. Money isn’t everything to Harbaugh, but he has an ego (as most big time coaches do), and nothing would be sweeter to him than turning Jacksonville around after Urban Meyer was such a failure with that franchise. He is super competitive and this would be his opportunity to “beat” Urban and prove he’s the better coach when everything is leveled out.

The team needed a jump from Isaiah Barnes, he is the high ceiling wing on the roster and he can't get any play.

And you can't play Diabate with Dickinson because we have a PG that can't shoot. No offense is ever going to have the spacing necessary to run smoothly if you have three guys the defense doesn't respect a three from and that isn't a problem Frankie Collins can fix. If you want Diabate and Dickinson out there together you need Eli running the point with Kobe (or Zeb) as a combo guard helping out running sets and hopefully being able to hit from 3 somewhat

I love this shit as it makes you think what could've been installed differently, like running to the weak side without the TE covered or what alignment changes could have been more successful and that would set-up the next play you call out of it....thanks Seth. Moar please!

To be fair, when Craig made that comment on Houstan's FIBA summer, it was still potentially just a slump, especially compared to all the data points prior to that.

I think that he has a great stroke, but the speed of the game has made him uncomfortable, and his release might be a tad slow.... I think these things can be fixed, but it will take a bit of time.

I think that it was a lot to expect the freshmen to carry the water for this team...Obviously, everyone hoped that Moussa and Caleb would be better (at least more consistent)...but they haven't reached that level.

I am more disappointed in the upper classmen who have not gotten much better despite being in the system for a year plus...outside of Eli and Hunter, none of the upper classmen are doing very much.
