Didn't Boubacar grow up in some third world country? Although I've never heard the story of him being two years older, it's entirely possible that his birth cirtificate was forged.
February 11th, 2011 at 10:58 PM ^
If Super Bowl commercials can teach us anything, it is that Detroit is not a third world country.

It refers to a DetNews article after Boo Boo had legal trouble that doesn't exist any more, but comment #7 references the age thing.
UPDATE: Here you go... his Department of Corrections info, which shows his birthdate as 6/6/88. That means he would have been 20 years old when he entered Michigan in fall '08.
MGoBlue.com's profile of Boo Boo has his birth date as 6/6/90 (under Personal at the bottom).
Thus, he was lying about his age and all those combines, etc... he did so well at, well, he did as an overager.

It's impossible to forge birth certificates.
With Love,
Freddy Adu and Danny Almonte
February 12th, 2011 at 1:32 AM ^
Hey freddy adu didn't forge his birth certificate. Ghana is a developing country, they keep track of that.

I don't know if it is true, but I seem to remember reading this somewhere also.

someone negged the OP. this was an informative and benign post. i don't understand what he could be negged for.
February 11th, 2011 at 7:06 PM ^
I don't really understand it either. Some people just have a lot of ANGAR.
February 11th, 2011 at 7:10 PM ^
Probably saw too much penis for their liking.

Now that is funny... Richardson looks really good, wish those cass tech boys were a little bigger though!!!
February 11th, 2011 at 7:54 PM ^
scared about his reaction via Twitter to the offer:
February 11th, 2011 at 8:41 PM ^
People who still neg must have a closed head injury. They're useless people!
Also, that doesn't seem too good for UofM at the moment but with TRich being in close proximity to campus he'll get plenty of attention that USC can't match.
February 11th, 2011 at 9:20 PM ^
Geez, let's not freak out quite yet. Only about a whole damn year till the next signing day. It's really not surprising that he may not have been as excited at an offer that he knew was coming for a long time. It's pretty awesome to get that attention from a big school across the country. I'll say it again, this will be test for Mattinson to see if he deserves all the hype he's gotten.
February 11th, 2011 at 9:23 PM ^
I totally agree that it's a long process and things change quickly in recruiting. It will be fun to watch this new staff recruit with the message that the old Michigan is back and we'll be an NFL factory again.
February 11th, 2011 at 9:47 PM ^
The "old Michigan" is back? When did that happen?
Who cares about being an NFL factory? How about we get excited about winning the Big Ten first.
February 11th, 2011 at 10:10 PM ^
High rated recruits care about a schools ability to get them to the league. High rated recruits help teams get to the top and compile wins.
Old Michigan is in reference to going back to an NFL style defense and pro style offense, which isn't the only way to get to the league but from what NFL scouts say it's easier to evaluate teams that have some pro sets as opposed to strictly spread. There are exceptions, however.
February 11th, 2011 at 10:18 PM ^
Why would somebody draft Sam Bradford playing in such a gimmick offense. Even the ultimate spread QB, Timmy, got drafted in the first round. Seeing as how a vast majority of college teams run the spread I disagree with you. If pro scouts are that bad that they can't evaluate a player because he plays in a spread they need to be fired.
February 11th, 2011 at 10:30 PM ^
You could go on to mention Alex Smith (#1 overall pick) or Pat White (2nd round, went higher in the draft than Chad Henne). Vince Young, Michael Vick, Drew Brees, etc. Percy Harvin and Michael Crabtree got drafted pretty high as well.
The NFL doesn't give a shit what kind of offense kids play in when they are in college. If anything they appear to be easily bamboozled by less talented guys putting up huge numbers in "spread" type offenses and they have been for years (SEE Andre Ware and David Klingler).

texas tech QBs disagree with your last statemennt.
February 11th, 2011 at 10:45 PM ^
You're right, guys that RR recruited like Lewan, Robinson, Roundtree, Roh, Omameh, Black can't play in the NFL. Not to mention guys that haven't seen much of the field yet/are young like M. Robinson, Ash, Washington, Stokes, Furman, Avery, C. Johnson, etc. I guess guys like Jordy Nelson, Harvin, Tebow, V. Young, White, McCoy, Cam Newton, etc. should just pack it up after college then as well?
In other threads you rip on guys like Section 1 and Dudeness for bring up RR all the time but you seem to have a problem letting him go as well. Whether you're Calvin Johnson or Danny Woodhead, if you can play football, you can play football.
February 12th, 2011 at 5:05 AM ^
Well if you'd like to compile a list of read option players then I would be all ears. Otherwise STFU and stop posting. Pat White had an awesome pro career and Steve Slaton was a one hit wonder. Rodriguez was a damn failure and all of the other schools that ran a pro/spread offense are in a different category. Passing spreads are different from read option spreads. I guess that is too much to ask that you would know that, though.

The neg's might not count, but errrybody can see them attached to the post.
February 12th, 2011 at 5:06 AM ^
Good to know.
February 12th, 2011 at 12:07 AM ^
Royce Jenkins-Stone said that he doesn't expect to attend the same school as Richardson. I get the feeling that Richardson has his eyes on getting out of the state. He's got offers from some big-time schools, and I think he'll end up elsewhere.
RJS, on the other hand, could very well end up in Ann Arbor.
February 12th, 2011 at 11:22 AM ^
Way to go out on a limb there, Mr Recruiting Nostradamus.
I'm going to remain optimistic until either or both of them say, "I'm a lifelong Michigan fan!"
February 12th, 2011 at 6:44 PM ^
Nothing about my post required a smartass response.

Ornery is a fucking asshole, I can't wait until negative votes count and we can send him to Bolivian.
February 12th, 2011 at 8:59 AM ^
I don't recall Boo Boo making very many tackle's just alot of him being burnt. (See ND game)
February 12th, 2011 at 10:26 AM ^
So Coach Cowhoke™ likes recruiting creepy old perverts for his football team. I just can't wait until everybody is chanting "Tampon tea!" during games.
Yeah, stay classy, Michigan! Good grief...
