rivals observations from practice
OK, they said that from what they saw, Sheridan was better. They said he's showing a better arm than he did the in the spring, and can throw on the run.
They said that Threet hasn't been making decisions as well, and also isn't throwing it as well.
They said that right now Feagin lacks the arm strength to play much.
They noted Michael Shaw being particularly impressive - alluding LB's and lineman while running over Cissoko.
And finally:
"Despite the questions at quarterback, some observers said the offense did move the ball at times and put some points on the board during Saturday’s scrimmage session despite the fact that the defense is outstanding (“off the map”) was how it was described."

Is Shaw still an RB or is he strictly in the slot now?

I don't know if we can expect the 2006 defense of 1-2nd rounders, but it really does sound like the defense is going to be outstanding. I can't wait. Yes, we will probably lose to OSU, but I highly doubt it will be a shelacking.

for the update...
VERY interesting stuff! Maybe Nick Shera-ton (as RR calls him) might be our starting qb after all.

hopefully Threet just had a bad day. i really don't like the idea of Sheridan as the #1 QB.
did they say anything about Terrence Robinson? have you heard anything?

I've heard he has been impressive right along with the other freshmen McGuffie, Shaw and Cissko. He will be in the slot and with his small frame I'm really looking forward to watching him in the open field. Everyone seems to talk about the other freshmen and forget about him, he will open some eyes once the season starts.
Don't remember what his 40 was but watching some of his videos he looks like a blazer down the sideline.

Rich Rod had been complimentary of him in the past - no mention today. Remember - he's speaking off the cuff, so it's possible that when he lists freshmen he expects to contribute, he's not getting to them all.

According to the Freep, he's now a former walk-on, along with Kicking Competency Lopata and Sean Griffin, the long snapper.

Those of you who have never played a sport might want to take the comments about the D, well all of the comments really, with a grain of salt.
I am sure the D looks all-universe in practice. Possibly because there are practicing against a struggling offense that they have seen ad nausem throughout spring and summer. Lots of defenses/offenses look great in practice when playing against their sub-par counterparts. You might want to reserve judgment until you see them in action against another team.

So are saying that everything we read good or bad should be taken with a grain of salt?
Does that change if we have played sports before?
