AJ Jordan to make decision tomorrow

From additional articles it seems likely to be Wisconsin but who knows.

If he was going to pick Michigan, we would have heard about it by now. Best of luck to him.

I think we cooled on him and just decided to let him go because we have great WR depth on the team and if we were to bring in Conway and Jordan....bye bye to watkins

Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but it looks like Jordan is rated higher than Watkins (at least on the 2011 MGoRecruitingBoard). Why would it be better to get Watkins later than Jordan now?

Looks like the recruiting board is a past one and something may have happened to the revised one. Watkins is rated higher by all the recruiting services than Jordan(take that for what it's worth). Still would love to have AJ on board, but we do have alot of WR's that we are still looking at.
Feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

It seemed like for months that we were his number 1 guy. I hadn't heard squat about him for the last month though. Anyone know if we cooled on him or if he just got really high on Wisconsin?

If Michigan coaches are really on a guy we hear about it on this blog. If they were drooling over AJ Jordan, somebody here would have told us. Since no one did, I suppose it's safe to assume the coaches were willing to let him go.

Combination of both. UM really liked him, but as things have progressed,
a) he visited Wisconsin and really liked it;
b) Michigan's focus has shifted almost exclusively toward defense, and...
c) with B in mind, the wisdom of taking a good-not-great possession WR decreased.
UM may have "cooled" on him, but it was convenient for all sides. Wisconsin pulled ahead, and UM decided not to put up a major fight. If we take another WR, it'll be Watkins.

Thanks for the info. It's interesting that Corey Long from ESPN is saying that we are recruiting Crawford for WR or SR. I wonder if he is misinformed or if there's an truth to that.

b) Michigan's focus has shifted almost exclusively toward defense
We've just recently got back in on some offensive recruits (Drew Owens, Quinta Funderburk, Devondrick Nealy). I do think defense is a bigger need, but it's not like we're ignoring offensive players.
We might be "losing out" on Jordan, but it's not because the coaches are disinterested in recruiting offensive players.

The question is not whether they were disinterested in recruiting offensive players, but uninterested in doing so.

Exactly. The coaches offered Watkins, Funderburk, and Flowers before/around the time Jordan was offered.. so it's not really a big deal. I'd say Flowers is comparable while Funderburk is a bigger, maybe slower target, and Watkins is the best of them all.

Two words........Sammy Watkins

Ahh, oh well, we just officially offered Byron Moore so let's hope this has some silver lining with another spot for him on defense and Watkins to replace Jordan.

we had pursued AJ more. I still think our chances for Watkins are not as high as some may think. Letting a guy like AJ Jordan go may be a mistake. Maybe we should have at least asked AJ to wait until after his official in Ann Arbor.

Yeah he is going to UW. It's all good. No hard feelings. GO BLUE !

Highly ranked guys like Stokes are barely playing and we have DJ Williamson, Jerald Robinson and Ricardo Miller all redshirting (I believe). We don't lose anyone from our WR corps after this year and I am sure that fact was not lost on him. He seems like he could be a good player but wide receivers are easier to find than some other positions so it is not likely that the coaches are kneeing each other in the crotch over losing him.
