Seems like a pretty small strike zone today, FWIW.
Winning this series would be key after being swept by the Rays.
Hit some more Peralta, you crazy mofo
Two homeruns in his first game is NOT GOOD ENOUGH! Hit more!
Watching Porcello throw Youkilis down was arguably my favorite moment of the season last year.
.....I cant stand that guy, and Porcello got a lot of respect from me after that.
The Sox are the queens of mean mugging. Youkilis always tries to look so fierce. Papi with his I'll do your mom raw Greek style face. Papelbon with his "I took it a little too hard in the rear last night" mouth scowl. And now, this little Kalish bitch with his "I'm a fierce rookie" stare. Please. I am already trying to teach my 4 year old that when you make a lot of scowls at the plate you just look stupid. Nobody is scared.
Scherzer looks like he's settled in a bit now.
Coke is coming in. I would have preferred him to start the ninth, but this works for me.
Is da man!!!!!!!!
That ending sucked.
Juiced one in
when our closer threw 60 pitches in a 5 run lead? Yeah, too bad he wasn't available with a 2 run lead. Thanks, Leyland.
Very true on the pitching situation....but when it comes to the at-bats Dombrowski is 100% to blame for zero depth on that bench. When injuries occur like this and you need to go to AAA to fill out your line-up, not to fill spots on the bench, there is a problem.
How in the hell do you blame Dombrowski for the game today? Hitting was not the problem.
Also, are you blaming DD for not having all-stars hidden with the Mud Hens when starters got hurt?
I wasnt blaming DD for the hitting today, I said true on the pitching situation. I'm talking about the offense in general since the injuries.
I'm not looking for all-stars in AAA, but when starters get hurt, you use AAA guys to help fill spots on the bench, not take regular line-up spots night in and night out. It isn't anything new that the Tigers lack some real depth on the bench when it comes to offense. Quit taking what I said so personally.
most teams fans also dislike the ability of the players on their teams bench. That's why they are bench players.
Maybe, but I remember the '06 Tiger bench to be able to come in and provide a jolt, not a groundout.
No, I'm sorry. You just remember Marcus Thames having a bonkers years. It wasn't the entire bench.
but Thames was the DH that year, so he didn't come off the bench.
why even bother?
