They have tried it before. Unfortunately, majority of the student section is too uninterested in anything but the game and the band. Sorry to be the wet blanket.
Um... It's played during football games already...
The first time the entire crowd danced at Yost was a thing of beauty. Last game of the season. 3rd period became a Blues Brother-fest. We played it easily 4 or 5 times, and would have done 4 or 5 more if the game hadn't ended. Total blast.
Yeah, but not like this. If Michigan Stadium blew up like this during Blues Bros...It'd be pretty sweet.
...bad ass songs by Detroit's own.
I still think if we have to have piped in music, something like this would go a long way towards making me not hate it.
I don't remember them playing it at the football games already. When is it?
I have a vague recollection of them maybe doing it at one of the games this year, but I can't recall specifically when. If they did play it, I certainly would have danced. I go crazy (but not too crazy) during the hockey games for Blues Brothers.
But unless you're down by the band it's impossible to hear. They ought to turn around and play at the entire student section when they do that song.
It happened a few times at games this year, I believe starting with someone at the Western game holding up a "Play Blues Brothers" sign. A few people danced along, but not nearly enough.
since 1980.
I think the dancing should stay at Yost. When they do the Blues Brothers at basketball games, from my seat, it looks like a lot of uninterested students going through the steps of the dance and I think it would be the same at the Big House.
