Sims to Celtics?
Mr. Sims!!!
He has the work ethic and they are in need of the youth.
Don't let Big Baby haze you, Peedi.
Don't let Big Baby eat you, Peedi.
Don't let Big Baby drool/foam on you, Peedi.
....Sheed is apparently hanging it up, the Celtics have a spot for a 4 who can shoot the 3.
having man-tits like 'Sheed is not a requirement
Most NBA players tend to decline the moob option until the end of their career.
walking away from 13 million is maybe the craziest thing Rasheed has ever done. . .and that's saying something. He's really letting the C's off the hook
Does any of the 13 million, Sheed was going to be making go to him anyways?
Or is it just freed up cap space??
I don't see why he would get any of that money after retiring
Sheed looked out of shape, tired, old, and disgruntled for much of the season. While he turned it around and stepped up a bit in the playoffs, it's possible he doesn't feel like grinding through another 82 game regular season (much like Brett Favre would certainly come back for the NFL playoffs but "might" retire because he doesnt want to go through training camp or grinding out games against the NFL bottom feeders). 13 Million is a ton of money to you or me, but to Sheed its quite possible that 13 million has no real effect on his quality of life (not enough money to significantly change his social circles... he already can hang out with multimillionaires so unless he's getting hundreds of millions that doesnt really change the way he lives).
Contracts are guaranteed in case the team decides to let a player go, but not if the player walks away. Which is fair, because otherwise you'd probably see a lot of older players sign contracts and then conveniently retire right after.
Leaving $13M on the table might sound crazy, but Sheed's made a ton in his career - over $100M.
Hooray Michigan player (maybe) on the Celtics. Here's to hoping he can make the squad. Seems like a pretty good opportunity for him.
