OT - What have you accomplished today
What have you done today to feel proud of?
Me? I got all of my work done before I have to leave for my doctor's appt, and then I took a truly epic dump.
I'm not sure which I'm more proud of.
Is where you get the chills like when you pee and where you almost pass out due to total relaxation of your colon after peristalsis.
because its my last friday as an undergrad
i plan to grill out and then go to the bar
Crushed a protein bar, created two Pandora stations, and I've spent quite a bit of time fantasizing about the Damages season finale. Oh my god, I need to make some changes here.
"So what do you all consider an epic dump??!"
Ricky Roma described it as taking a dump that made you feel like you slept 10 hours.
3 of them woke back up. Woohoo! 75% success.
(The fourth is still being worked on)
from Tim Berners-Lee to the advent of true smartphone browser apps.
Forget the class-- I think I even fell asleep during the Marc Andreesen portion.
now considering a nice nap before the wife gets home.
The 20 miler. One of the only things that makes me want to grow another sack of testicles so that I can double-fist punch my own crotch. That would be less painful.
And, in a weird sort of way, I miss 'em. This is my first time not running the Bayshore/any marathon in 6 years.
For my accomplishments today, I was off and turned into Mr. Mom. Baby fed, diapered, read to, etc; laundry, dishes, cleaning, and a little time to plan meeting up with the guys tomorrow for all the fun.
Now it's drinking, burritos and playoff hockey.
Woke up at 7:45 for my ME 395 lab at 8:30. Successfully created the balsa wood model with the largest volume over drag coefficient to win the candy bar. Ate some Panda Express and drank an Arnie Palmer (best drink of all time). Then came home after attending a boring lecture and...wait for it...took a massive poo. Fantastic day thus far. Now to cap it off with a round of golf and the Brown Jug to watch the Wings. What a day.
Nothing has made me really truly wish I was still a student in AA as much as reading that post.
Jon Dalys > Arnold Palmers.
And ME395 Sucks, I hated that balsa wood car/bus lab. 495 is much less obnoxious, but still sucky.
Oh believe me, I can't even wait for 495! I hear it's the best...
I successfully convinced one of our patients (a stroke survivor) to come to the ED to get worked up because he was experiencing stroke-like symptoms with a highly elevated blood pressure. He didn't want to come in because he said he was feeling better and his daughter called me and asked if I could call him and talk to him about coming in.
I got him in and stayed with his wife and daughter while he was being seen.
They ruled out a stroke, which is absolutely the best news I've heard all day. While we will still have to figure out where the elevated BP is coming from, his ekg was normal and he was discharged home.
I just got a really nice text from his daughter. I love my job.
I took the day off work, so my major accomplishment for today is the near-complete destruction of the Mongol empire as payback for them fruitlessly demanding my technology about three centuries ago. I don't forget insults.
" Russian sex trade industry in Prague
LINK!"
Google, "+Russian, sex, slave, Prague" and you'll get lots of good info. Ain't no way in the world I'm going to try to explain to IT why that search was relevant to my job.
BTW, going rate for a Russian sex slave is $1,000 apparently. Thanks BBC.
ate a double down for lunch with extra bacon. My wife will not be happy with me tonight. Something truly epic will definitely happen tonight at my house.
"Mine were for a ground-breaking of a new office we were building, and the CEO decided last-minute that he wanted every board member in attendance to have one. "
I do public relations and event planning work for a city in the SE. Every time we do a capital project and break ground, we have to do this so the City Council feels special. We did it after a hard rain once and the council sprayed everyone in the front row with mud when they sank their shovels in.
I just went back and counted the bands on the mayor's shovel. Every time we start a project, we put on a new band recognizing the event. I've been here for 10 years and I've overseen 12 groundbreakings. I'll see the Parks and Rec department out working somewhere and notice the tinges of gold on the spade. Ah...one of our groundbreaking shovels.
And yes, after every event, we get a couple of calls and emails from Emily Latellas who want to know why their tax dollars were used on solid gold shovels.
drank some beers and laid out
Got my first paycheck!
