Ted Ginn traded...
Looks like OHIO STATE players are having a hard time adjusting to the NFL. I wonder if Chad Henne is sad? I doubt it.

I was just about to post this. +1 for your quick cat like reflexes.
He also has the speed of a mongoose.
He got a receiver who can catch.
Would have liked a higher draft pick though...
Tedd "Ginn" is not to be considered "Top Shelf".
I think they'll use this Sam Hendricks.
Ginn would be significantly better if he can get combined with Juice Williams.
Darn I was hoping it was going to be Sr. Getting traded to some small high school in Maine or something.
Why is Ginn not at cornerback?
He's a great athlete, he's got terrific hips...he just can't catch. It's not like marquee CBs don't get paid. You could still use him in the return game.
Seems like he's playing out of position.
All had him listed as a 5-star corner going to OSU. I really don't understand why he isn't either unless he is really just that terrible at tackling, in which case, he still can't catch so maybe at least give him a shot. I don't know
It probably has something to do with him being deathly afraid of contact as a WR. He falls over as soon as he catches the ball. I can't imagine him being much use as a defensive player. If a guy ever caught a ball on his side of the field, the defense better rally up quick, because I doubt he'd ever make a tackle.
his aggressiveness would make Deion Sanders look like Jack Tatum in comparison.
It said a late round pick, I was hoping they recoup the 2ed they lost with Marshall. Damn 49ers doing there homework. Now if they can trade Hartline for Avant, that would purge all the Bucks off Miami.
EDIT: ESPN reports it's a 5th round Miami got in return.
Late round pick? I think they could've settled for a 2006 dogs-dressed-as-people calendar.
I found out today that Chad Henne won a cook off on the Rachel Ray show. I had no idea robots were good at cooking.
Mmmm.... Rachel Ray....
After 6 weeks of airbrushing, that's pretty good!
Also, I'm glad pictures don't come with sound.
Rachel Ray annoys the heck out of me. Giada on the other hand...
DAYAMMM
This pic made me think of the Benny Hill Show, where he flicks a piece of food into a woman's cleavage, then starts rolling up his sleeve to fetch it.
O LET DO IT!
I like the turn this thread was starting to take.
Rachel Ray disgusts me. Giada on the other hand, is smoking hot.

..one minute I'm thinking about cornerback play, then unexpected spoon licking. nice!
Glad to know I didn't imagine it. I mentioned that on an on-line Chat with the Detnews' Angelique Chengelis. (It might have been signing day, or the post-signing day chat. In my own defense, I'd been watching a tape and stopped it so I could follow the chat, and when I heard Chad's name...) I even told Angelique what he'd cooked-- something very healthy, maybe marinated chicken breast with asparagus? Can't remember now. And I'm sure Angie thought I was joking. Didn't clarify, of course.
Next up to leave Miami: Brian Hartline??? haha
Enter Greg Matthews? or any non ND, OSU, MSU, Wideout
It's Mathews.
The dolphins have gotten better this off-season. Look for Chad Henne's numbers to go up significantly as well.
If UM does outstanding and win the Big 10 and Chad Henne breaks out and leads Miami to the Superbowl.
That was one of the worst top 10 picks ever. It seemed like even at the time everyone knew it except the Dolphins.
Ryan Leaf says hi
I'm pretty sure I didn't say "it was the worst." Me not know how read what me spell maybe?
Believe it or not, Leaf was highly regarded coming out of college. Chargers fans weren't angry when he was drafted.
Miami fans, on the other hand, were unhappy from the moment Ginn was drafted. Granted, they wanted to Brady Quinn, but Ginn was drafted way too high.
was worse.
Again though, at the time, people thought Gholston was a good pick. No one outside of the Miami front office thought the Ginn pick was a good one.
he didn't just draft Ted Ginn. He drafted "the whole Ginn family."
I think the 49ers have gotten better though too. They are definitely the "winners" of this trade. I mean Ginn is at least worth a 6th or 7th round pick (even if he did go to the hellhole college). With SF having two first round picks plus a mid second rounder, they will be decent. I think Crabtree will continue the way he ended the season. A QB would help too......
Yeah, but they didn't get a lot better. Realistically, Ginn is a 2nd but probably 3rd receiver on a team. The could have gotten one of those with the 5th round pick they gave up.
He might only be a 3rd receiver but he is also an above average return man. Plus I think making him a #3 receiver will be beneficial to his career. Miami wanted him to be a #1 outside receiver but his skills don't match the job description. He is a quick and shifty receiver, not a tall and lanky one.
I agree that he's an above average return man. However, in his fourth year in the league, with a good QB, he fumbled (2) more times than he scored a TD (1) and he threw up a goose egg in terms of yardage (3) as many times as he racked up 40+(1) yards receiving. He averaged not quite 2.3 catches for 28 yards per game. This doesn't even account for all the dropped balls he had.
And for all the speed he has, he had a total of 3 catches for 20+ yards, and one of those was 21. This does not scream "big pick-up" to me. Guys like this are picked up in free agency all the time. Without a quality QB, I'll be surprised if he ever repeats even those numbers.
I am so freaking happy Hands-of-Stone Ginn is gone!
Glenville HS now is going to try to steer their grads away from the Miami Dolphins.
"He falls over as soon as he catches the ball. I can't imagine him being much use as a defensive player. If a guy ever caught a ball on his side of the field, the defense better rally up quick, because I doubt he'd ever make a tackle."
How is that any different than Deion Sanders? A girl scout selling cookies could stiffarm and face-plant Sanders in the open field.
I seriously doubt he'd be Deion Sanders as a CB, but I guess we'll never know. Deion's complete lack of tackling wasn't an issue because he may have been the best cover corner ever.
That is not man nor football player. That is a young god astride the universe, walking amongst the stars, crushing planets with his mighty fists, breathing in the souls of those whose dreams he has crushed.
Now all the fins need to do is replace hartline and were good.
This probably means that Miami will be looking for a wide receiver with their first round pick, most likely Dez Bryant out of Oklahoma State. If Dez is gone by the time the Dolphins get to pick, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they look to Brandon Graham at that spot and look for a wide receiver in round 2 or 3. There's really no other receivers worth taking that high. Could be interesting. Parcels loves Michigan players and definitely loves Graham. He raved about him after the combine and the Dolphins coaching staff definitely got a good look at him decimating their offensive line in the senior bowl.
They just traded for Brandon Marshall, which is what made Ginn expendable in the first place. I'd actually doubt they go WR in the first now.
There's no reason I'm supposed to be up to date with every bit of news in the football world, so I hadn't yet heard that that trade had occurred. It is good to know, though. It's definitely a big trade. Well then I guess this really leaves the door more open for Brandon Graham. I know that there's some other players they could take there and are considered more likely to go higher than Graham, but Parcels really has had high praise for Graham and hopefully he looks to him in the first round.
Didn't say you were. Just informing you that it happened since it seemed you didn't know. No big deal.
I still kind of doubt the Dolphins take Graham though. Parcells tends to like the prototype 6'3" or taller guys at OLB. I'd say Graham could potentially go as high as Jacksonville, but his likely landing places start at #16 and the Titans, then probably Atlanta at #19. It'd be nice to see the Michigan connection continue on the 'Phins though.
Brandon Marshall, Miami will not be taking a WR with the 1st.
EDIT: Ironman has faster fingers tham me.
