i dont think we were on him too hard, but he was definitely an option
49-10.
I'd rather win the league but it's not a team issue, it's a schedule thing. Their only hard road game was us. They drew two weaker teams Iowa at home vs. us going to Kinnick at night and Wisconsin for us and Minny for them. We go to the horseshoe and they play them in a night white out game. Winning the title does not mean that they were the best team which you seem to think.
His stock was falling fast after being really well thought of last year. We have a small class class and can push for guys like Faalele.
Wouldn't the small class typically point us away from taking a flyer on a high-risk, high reward player like Faalele? Not arguing one way or another, but I don't think the logic of your last sentence necessarily holds up.
Fair enough. Ryan Hayes is a better analogy.
Faalele intrigues me...I don't think we shouldn't take him. There are cases of athletes, such as Ziggy Ansah, who can quickly learn the game upon taking it up later in life and take full advantage of their freaky athletic nature and succeed. I almost feel that we have to see him start 1 game at IMG before he should be a take.
For an OL does it really matter? Many of these guys don't get great coaching in HS (one year at IMG is probably better than 4 at some random school) and are still growing into their bodies. Cases of athletes picking up football in high school aren't that rare. I don't think the 2 older Glasgow brothers played all that much high school football. If you are a large, reasonably coordinated human being you already have a massive advantage over most of the human population.
in what is likely to be a small class. So the answer to your question seems to be no.
Well 4/7 are four stars. Simon, Hutchinson, Reese, and Ekiyor.
according to the 247 composite
we have 6 4-stars according to ESPN
German Green's rating will rise when he plays after he recovers from his injury
Harbaugh is now looking for specific players - 6'2" CB's and safeties as an example
players jump all over the board as rating sites change their mind
I would not get too hung up on it
If you're using just 247 it's 3, but four players are 4 stars on the composite.
I believe their qb from last season will join a decent D1 program in 2018, probably on the defensive side of the ball. Believe his name was McFarden. Big kid, tough to bring down but I think his future lies on the other side of the line. I do, however, believe he will join Reed and Pimpleton who committed to VaTech as legit D1 players.
I would like to keep him around for as long as possible. Kind of like how buckeye fans wanted RR or Hoke to be our coach forever. Psu will not replicate what they did last year and I am quite confident that that will also be Franklin's best season ever. I liken Franklin's season to Hoke's 11-2 Sugar Bowl season. Even mediocre coaches can step into something magical once in a blue moon.
James Franklin will soon be coaching special teams in the NFL?
Let Penn State enjoy this little momentum. It cant last. The sun shines on a dog's ass sometimes. Just every once in awhile however. They are for surely a dog. Probably more of the mut as a matter of fact in college football and everything burns sooner or later. It just so happens that they burn faster and more often lately than the majority. Michigan royally kicked their ass last year. Cant wait for that this year at their place in primetime. They didn't beat anyone last year. Ohio shit the bed and they weren't really that good either. Except for stupid dipstick Samuels.
Devontae Dobbs for '19 class, I don't really care
Logan Brown and Julian Barnett too. Browns #2 in Michigan and also a OT. Barnett is #3 in the state, a CB, and he goes to the same school as Dobbs so it could be a two-fer. Next year could be a killer haul as long as we wrap up the in state talent
Not gonna worry about 3 star Reed
"Watch out for Penn State.
Methinks we would not have gotten players like Hudson and Nordin from their backyard if it was a year later."
However, I think it important to not forget players like Breaston and Henne who opted for UM years before we knew Sandy was a Dandy. UM has always been enticing when it comes to recruiting. Young high schoolers love the tradition, and yes those beautiful helmets and the Big House to name just a few reasons their interest in M starts early. With a few others schools that have made major strides on the field, therefore clout in recruiting as well, UM and ND were the two schools for years that never had to worry about the front door being locked. With all the things recruits have always found appealing in regard to the wolverines, add Harbaugh to the mix and the welcome signs that have always been there for us are just going to increase. Taylor, imo, was a strategic choice and Solomon and Reese are proof positive the strategy has paid off. He's simply good in all things football and recruiting is a major weapon in his arsenal.
