OT - Tiger Woods returns to competitive golf this week

Submitted by trueblue262 on

Figured the board could use a little "mix up" on topics, and I feel this is one of the most interesting topics in the sports world. For somebody that dominated for so long, and now he "hopes to get back into the top 1000 in world rankings" Crazy! I must be honest.......my folowing of the PGA has gone about parrallel to Tigers game. I have always rooted for him to succeed, and I will be this weekend as well.

otherwise binge-watch a TV show, I should watch a few "Greatest Plays" Blu Rays for Tiger Woods, Barry Sanders, Michael Jordan. Tiger really was spectacular during that 10-year stretch from '97 to '06.

I hope he's not bitterly disappointed with his scores Hope his return doesn't come up short of his expectations. Hope the trees and rough don't cause to much interference with his shots. ... I mean, in basketball it would technically be an interference. I guess I just hope that he can hold steady and it doesn't affect his official score. . . . ... and if he has to go to the bathroom I hope he doesn't have to poop in a cooler

Well wasn't Dustin Johnson told by an official in the US Open that it was fine his ball moved and to just re-address the ball...and then later on was informed mid-round they were thinking about adding a penalty stroke? And then they did later.

So...they're also shitty.

I havent paid a bit of attention to golf since Tiger won in 2008, but I decided to get back into it. I can't wait to see Tiger tear it up again!

I also can't wait to see his Swedish wife in the crowd, know what I'm sayin?

He's really worked on his swing. It's now built to help him prolong his career. Hopefully when things aren't going well, he doesn't revert back to his old habits.

Reports are that he's "striping it" on the range, and looking sharp in practice rounds.

(To those who don't regularly follow professional golf, these reports are the equivalent of reports of college kickers hitting it from 60 yds in warm ups. Never seems to materialize in a game.)

this a full fledged return to competitive golf.  Isn't this is own tourney with something like 18 participants?

Let's wait until January or February when it decides to tee it up at a legit PGA tour stop.

He recently shot a 63 at Seminole. Hank Haney brought it up on his daily show yesterday. He said if Tiger is publicly stating that he can hit all his shots on call again, something's significantly changed in the 7 months since he backed out of the Safeway. A slo-mo of his new driver swing is circulating the web, and it looks safe on his body, but effective.

The most hilarious thing in this ranking is that the guy ahead of Tiger Woods, Tim Madigan, stayed at my house for a web.com event earlier this year.  Good guy, but did not make the cut in that tourney.
