New dwarf planet discovered by UM

Submitted by caliblue on

David Gerdes, University of Michigan cosmology professor, while mapping galaxies discovered a new dwarf planet  approximately 500 miles in diameter.  This made the news today on national public radio.  His web page:http://www-personal.umich.edu/~gerdes/.  I know this is not sports related but as a double graduate ( BS chem, M.D. ),  sometimes these things just make you proud to be an alumnus.  Harbaugh will have a camp there next summer

Well, a freaking planet (albeit dwarf) was discovered by a U of M prof. today and there are 2x as many posts about Harbaugh eating at Ruth's Chris. This blog is slipping. /s

Thank you for your user name and avatar. Just a few days ago I was trying to remember the book I had as a kid about a steam shovel so I could buy it for my son. You have answered my question. This blog truly knows everything.

Also, spotted on the surface was a delegation of natives:

"We represent the Lollipop Guild,

"The Lollipop Guild,

"The Lollipop Guild.

"And in the name of the Lollipop Guild..."
