Retail versions of the jerseys (Photo)

Submitted by Wolverine Devotee on

Nike.com released what the retail versions for fans will look like when they become available on Saturday at 9am at MDen.

There are two jerseys numbers available that are pre-made. #1 and #4. If you want a different one, you'd have to get a custom order which will cost more.

The model posted above is the Limited version. It's $135 and is the highest quality for sale, with tackle twill numbers.

They have a $90 Replica version that has screen printed numbers (I believe).

If you're OCD like me and want the authentic look, you can buy $7 B1G patches on eBay and iron them on.

They really should offer authentics with elastic sleeves for framing (those look kind of stupid to wear without pads) and the fake t-shirt sleeves.

On the players' away white jerseys the numbers are on the shoulder, but here they are on the sleeves like the home jerseys. Not quite the same.

Ha! I love it! All the hand wringers (I'm looking at you, WD) can go have vigorous intercourse with yourselves. As little as I care about fonts (barring truly major changes, like Oregon or Arizona State) I love it when people who claim they know what is good and/or original get shot down.

No I did. For me, attaching a cool historical story to something doesn't change my perception of the aesthetic of it, as it seems to have done for much of the board.

Most people on the board were lamenting how ugly it is 48 hours ago. The design didn't change, a story got attached to it, and now everyone thinks it's a great design. Ok....? Whatever works for people I guess lol

Nike's done a nice job respecting the culture that is Michigan football.  But, we're a PREMIUM program.   Why dumb down the jersey offering with a fake for the highest priced game jersey?   As an adult male I would not be caught dead wearing one of these, regardless of authenticity,... but for my high school aged son, I would love to buy him something that is actually worn on game day-- the real thing with all of the die cut mesh panels, even if it's $250.  I don't think I'm alone in the notion that our University represents what is optimal and best in the world.   Otherwise, let's just print these numbers + Jordan icon on blank navy cotton T's, which would be more respectful vs. "try hard" imitations.   We're not Ohio St.

I remember buying an Anthony Carter #1 Michigan jersey in the early 80's and it certainly seemed like an actual game jersey.  Same mesh material, big enough for shoulder pads, expensive as hell for back then.  It was awesome.
