SB nation projects Michigan to CFB Playoff

Quoted from article:

Michigan might be the safest Playoff pick in the country; I don't think the Wolverines are the best team, but look at that schedule. 7-0 heading into East Lansing should be expected. 8-4 would be a disaster. The Wolverines should have a monstrous defense, and the only real Q is at quarterback, where there are decent options on paper.

worried about our unproven linebacker play? I just don't see how we end up in the playoffs when we face osu and msu, both away, with uncertainty at lb and qb.

Not worried at all (well maybe a little)... Peppers is obviously ncredibly talented and his lack of size should be a non-factor because of the D-Line. I'm very excited about McCray. Our linebacker corps wasn't a problem until Glasgow got injured last year because no one could get through that line. Our line is better and deeper this year. Also, it's hard not to trust Don Brown. My main worry is that the O-Line prevents the running game from being Stanfordesque (w/ Gerhart).

We had average linebackers at best last year, up untill we lost ojemudia and Glasgow we were the top defense in the country.

You don't win games by terrific linebacker play, you win them on the defensive line. Look at what the Broncos did last year, look at what msu did at osu. Defensive line is the most important position group on the field that of which we will field one of the tops in the country.

Just don't see it happening, and am surprised so many people are on board with this. New QB, new DC, and not quite enough talent yet, specifically at OL and RB. Michigan will be good, but not playoff good.

If they're gonna point to the schedule, that is also a reason for the committee to exclude Michigan. We would need a perfect record most likely. Haven't won at ohio in 7 tries and lost bad last year at home. I hope it happens but i don't understand them saying it's the easiest playoff projection

Easy schedule? Not with all the tough games on the road. I think a playoff berth is highly unlikely.

But if the ball doesn't bounce the right way in some close game, we could lose a few. This year I think we could go anywhere from 12-0 to 9-3. I'm thinking we'll end up 11-1 and it may not be a loss to OSU. I could see beating any of the west teams in the B1G championship game. I guess playoffs will depend on how other power conference teams do and strength of their schedule. I could see a 11-1 LSU going to the playoffs over a 12-1 Michigan.

What ever our record is, I'm just glad we have Harbaugh. Hopefully, our offense will carry us in '17 after losing much of our stellar defense. Overtime (3 more seasons) Harbaugh will have this team winning the B1G and getting into the playoffs most seasons.

I am glad to see there are reasonable people here with reasonable expectations. I honestly expected nothing but a posbang of "HARBAUGH!" comments.

And also apparently I am not alone in the PTSD crowd, which makes me feel slightly better.
