Sneaux in South LA
So I woke up this morning to big flakes of snow falling in my current town of Baton Rouge. Its not cold enough for the snow to stick though. It's funny because I live near LSU's campus where traffic is usually a nightmare in the morning, there were very few cars on the road this morning. Its weird that the roads are filled with maniacs driving in the pouring rain but a little snow keeps everyone off the road.

It is comical how people down here freak out in the snow. The weather forecasts call for snow and they start closing schools and businesses a day before the snow even arrives. Coming from Michigan it seems so foreign to close things down for less than an inch of snow. Last month we received less than 2 inches which created wide spread panic.

I live in Boston, and while places in the mid atlantic, and the south were getting pounded with snow a couple of days back, we got... rain. yeah.

People were pulling off the road to take pictures of the snow and all the snowmen are brown...seriously!!!

It's weird, all these places in the states are having crazy amounts of snow. In Canada, Toronto to be more specific we barely gotten any snow this year, I haven't shoveled my driveway once. Who would have thunk it.

When I lived in South Texas, they had snow for Christmas. I was gone, but all my neighbors took a bunch of pictures and refused to drive while snow was on the ground.

I just saw on tv for the first time ever there is measurable snow in all 50 states right now. Including the Mountains in Hawaii. In Tennessee this year we've had more snow than in the past 15 winters combined. I guess it must be global warming !!!??!!!!

how everyone says, "oooh, look at all this snow, global warming is bunk." Global warming causes climate "change." It means more variability in seasonal weather. More extreme temperatures. More snow, less snow, more rain, less rain... The fact that we have have had such crazy weather actually lends credence to the climate change claims, doesn't detract from it.

Dude relax.

he's just trying to help people understand the true effect of global warming. Far to many uninformed people think cold weather and snow in places where there isn't usually snow debunks global warming when, in fact, it actually stregthens the argument.

I just thought that the original commenter was just kidding, that is why I said that he should relax.

Actually, it neither strengthens nor weakens it. It's anecdotal evidence, nothing more. "Weather" and "climate" are two separate concepts.

I live really far south in Louisiana and we have just been rained on a lot with no snow. The people want snow so bad. It is crazy. I've seen pictures of Shreveport and they got way more than I thought they were going to get.

everyone wants snow, until they get it. Then they want to get rid of it.

This can only help with our recruitment of the sec territory. Once they get used to the snow, why wouldn't they want to come to Michigan? This is the work of Bo!

I'm in Arlington,TX and we got about 6 inches or so yesterday. They have no equipment whatsoever for getting rid of snow so they basically closed everything down in the metroplex today. Probably a smart idea though seeing as how no one in this state can drive.
