NCAA Basketball Tournament - Halving The Final Four (Open Thread)

We'll just throw this out there now - 

6:09 PM - the battle of the #2 seeds - Oklahoma vs. Villanova

8:49 PM - the #1 and the #10 - North Carolina vs. Syracuse

Both games are on TBS. 

This is the first time a #10 has made it to the Final Four.

Hope the UNC players have the time between now and the title game to finish up their two paragraph final papers for their classes.

Seriously, I want a good game on Monday more than anything, but the fact that UNC has gotten away with academic fraud with little to no punishment is an absolute joke.

There's now way we're going to beat a team like Carolina with our recruiting strategy.  There's no reason we can't recruit like Carolina.

This kind of thinking, both in football and in basketball, is why Michigan has been a school living in the past for years.

This "We are Michigan" crap doesn't mean shit. Recruits don't care about tradition. They don't care about what we did with leather helmets and peach baskets 100 years ago. They want winners who win right now.

Yet a large percentage of recruits/commits and players rave about the tradition (see 2017 commit Kurt Taylor's recent Twitter post paying homage to Bo, for an example). I'm not arguing that winning (right now) isn't most important to the recruits, but academics, location, facilities, tradition, etc... all factor into the equation.

Disagree. I think the coaching staffs have to sell their souls to the AAU powers to get in on recruits. I think there is so much slime in CBB that big powers have to muck thru, you either have a coach able and willing to put up with it or you have your morals. Pick one.
