the SEC proposal infringes american's basic rights. ACC's proposal are more reasonable but I don't see how it can stop Harbaugh being guest speaker/guest coaches such events.

I nearly threw up in my mouth:
For those nine precious days of a spring break, football players should be awarded the time and space their fellow students receive. The last things they should be are pawns in Harbaugh's recruiting plans.
It should say "pwecious." And what about the football players' "pwecious" rights to actually receive the scholarships they committed to, this being the LSU of Elliot Porter and all that?

They are vehemently opposed to this but yet when Clinton-Dix and Dee Hart were being recruited Alabama paid tens of thousands of dollars to upgrade the facilities at the high school they went to (Dr. Phillips in Orlando).  Such bullshit.

ACC and SEC also siding with the Wisconsin High School Athletic Association about 'AIRBALL' and 'You can't do that' chants because they just aren't fair

I agree with the scholarship limitations.  I don't understand why they can't just put a cap of 23-25 scholarships a year.  If kids stay 5 years, you could have a few extra on scholarship.  That cap would keep people from oversigning and they would know exactly how many commits they can take.  It would also eliminate the incentive to run kids off.  If they leave, you don't get to replace them.  Taking high risk kids would not be a good thing either and it would be much more beneficial to take high quality people.

Ole miss cant get a 5 or 4 star recruit so they can give the money to charity that theyre spending just to get a damn football player because their coaches are shit and only are able to do things if they have the very best money whore recruits.

semi-serious question. Do they have any designs on trying to keep Michigan from having at least a portion of spring practice in Florida? I can't imagine what type of rule they would request, or if the NCAA would give a shit or even have jurisdiction on where teams have their practices.

"Our league has done pretty good in recruiting, yada, yada, yada......so let's leave it as is."

He of course goes on to say it might benefit some teams trying to grow their brand. If Jim is inviting every coach in America to attend and assist wouldn't participation by SEC coaches help them as well?  He states he's fine with recruiting as is but  at the same time says this could be good for certain other conferences. Inasmuch as its legal, or they would not ask for its curtailment, wouldn't they benefit just as much by attending and gain even more prospects?

Of course Jim is using this to expand UM's recruiting area although we have always been known to recruit nationally. My understanding is this allows a large number of players who might not otherwise have a chance at exposure to be seen by coaches who, even if they don't want to participate, just show up and if a player grabs their attention they can go forward if they so desire.

Hell, the NCAA is aware of the recruiting practices in the SEC and Dabo, due to his time in that conference, has proven he is adept at it as those who taught him. If they have nothing to gain by accepting Jim's invitation, then it stands to reason they have nothing to lose.

Bottom line is more kids are being looked at. When this happens more will be offered scholarships, even at non D1 schools but still an educational opportunity that wasn't there prior to the camp. No matter how the coaches view it, these camps provide opportunities and if, as they claim, their interest lies in promoting their sport and providing opportunities through football, how is extending that opportunity to a greater amount of high schoolers at odds with their profession?  Small minded, sissy ass punks is what I take out of this behavior on their part.
