The biggest reason the Gators won't necessarily be driving up the tickets is our late season depression... losing like we did to FSU and Alabama has certainly taken some of the luster off a season that FAR exceeded expectations. But since Orlando is only a short two hour drive from Gainesville, there'll still be plenty of Gators doing all they can to get tickets.

If getting great seats at a significantly reduced price is your thing buy on secondary market closer to the game itself. Many of the best seats for all bowls are given to locals and other dignitaries who don't give two shits about either team.

I've had the same experiences that MGrowOld noted. Buying through Michigan has gotten me lousy seats. Buying on the secondary market has gotten me much better seating and sometimes for less money, although if I'm going to pay the costs of travel, hotel, etc. I will pay more to get good seats.

I've bought from StubHub every time and I always sit with the Michigan fans. And I pay like half the price.
I love Michigan, but they don't need my money as much as I do...maybe one day I can afford it. Until then, I'll be going the cheapest option possible.
That said, this year (assuming it's Citrus Bowl)...I'll have field passes - knowing people is always the cheapest option. Go Blue!

This is 100% accurate. For regular season road games - you typically get jammed in the worst seats in the stadium - but you are with other Michigan fans. At least with bowl games, you get a better shot at sitting in good seats with other Michigan fans in the lower bowl - depending on how many priority points you have. If you look at the Stubhub map, you can clearly see the sections that have no ticket availability since they have been reserved for each school and haven't gone on sale for either school yet. I would definititey sit in those lower bowl sections with other Michigan fans by buying through the school, but you run the risk of getting jammed in the upper deck if you don't have the right amount of points.
That being said, I ordered 2 tickets using my priority points. I'll wait to see what section I end up in before looking to upgrade by selling those tickets and buying better ones. I usually always end up upgrading.

How do you know how many points you have? I am definitely going to the game, just trying to decide how best to get tix. I just joined the alumni club recently, so I probably have very few points. Should I buy thru the AD to start building points, or try and purchase thru secondary market in the Michigan section? I don't care about the best seats in the house, would rather be with fellow fans.

A note on the Citrus Bowl:
The Big Ten's "half" of the stadium is the West side (sections 121-147) if you're looking to sit on the right side of the stadium.
Not sure if anticipated Big Ten demand is way higher though because on Stubhub the west side of the stadium is currently significantly more expensive than the East Side.

and too lazy to google this: when will we officially find out that we're going to the Citrus Bowl and who our opponent is? I know all the talk seems to point to Michigan vs. Florida, but before I seriously consider going and start to explore ticket options, I'd like to know that Michigan has accepted the invite.

This afternoon. 6PM at the latest, but likely earlier.
My guess would be 3 or 4PM EST.

Do you guys think it will take the Citrus bowl to decide after the NY6 bowls are announced?
EDIT: Nevermind didn't read. Need glasses.

Which is the range the Athletic Dept gave when we were asked to order them. Whatever they charge me is what I will ask from the fine folks at MGoBlog.
I guess there is an outside chance I will not get them as availability was based on priority points, but I think I should.

Not sure where they are located in the stadium. But they will be in the Michigan Section as I ordered them through the Athletic Department.
I should get the tickets in the mail in the next 10 days or so. Shoot me an e-mail at [email protected] and we can work logisitcs.
Between you and SARTO1G , whomever will commit to the tickets first will get them.

Do Florida fans actually get excited about bowl games in Florida?

to see the Florida "thieves and murderer" team. Urban and his "circle of trust" is long gone, Aaron Hernandez is in prison, etc., etc.:
