Hello: Abby Skvarce (sb)
Coach Hutch signed Abby Skvarce from Clarkson High School. She is a Catcher and two-time all-state honorable mention. She is also a three-time district and two-time all-league selection. This is a position of need for the team.
She has a career .452 BA with a .607 Slugging Percentage. Defensively she has a .962 fielding percentage. She threw out 31 base runners in 2015.
I have watched Abby since she was a Freshmen and Coached against her in a tournament a few years back. She has a rocket for an arm and threw out my fastest runner. As a matter of fact, Abby was the only catcher to throw our my lead-off batter that season. Her travel teams were the Michigan Bulldogs and Michigan Finesse; both are top-tiered programs in Southeastern Michigan.
Welcome to the family, Abby. At least you will not have to buy a new winter jacket.

Do you have any idea why Haley Hoogenraad and Katherine Thais-Gonzalez were not mentioned in the Michigan Press release?

I asked that in the Madison Uden thread. They may be preferred walk ons like Susalla.

If that's the case I wouldn't think they would have to sign letters of intent and the article on Hoogenraad said she did. Of course the article could be wrong.

A catcher with a rocket arm is worth their weight in gold. I am excited. Go blue!
