MSU Weekend: Recruit reactions?

Submitted by Gentleman Squirrels on

Looking at a different part of the game, this weekend was a huge recruiting weekend for us. Anyone hear anything about recruit reactions?

I found these 2 articles on Scout:

Isaac Nauta

David Long

Both of them have extremely positive reactions from the weekend, with Long saying he liked Michigan more than Notre Dame.

If you and others making nonsensical comments such as this are true Michigan fans, you will not propagate false information online that will only be picked up and used by others as "fact".

Comments like this are as bad as the Freep and DetNews clickbait headlines.

If you are a true Michigan fan, please stop.

I'm excited to see how this DB class pans out. Lamar Jackson, Lavert Hill, and/or Jordan Fuller is crazy. Also, heard Nauta was surpised by his vist. Would be a HUGE get for this harbaugh O. Potential GOAT at the position at Michigan hes that good. Butt++

This was a great atmosphere for the recruits and you have to make the best of the events that happened.  I am sure the coaching staff was coaching up the entire team and i am sure the entire team knows they played a great game but in the end strange things happened.  There were several events thoughout the game the coaches can use to take the focus off the last play.  If we hit some long passes, eliminate the dumb personal fouls, RB's hit the right holes, etc and this game would have been out of reach for MSU.  They will move forward from this knowing they have the BEST coach in the game today.  This loss was a once in a million fluke and the team knows that.  GO BLUE!  MOAR RECRUITS!

I was at the game and it was amazing. Hitting over 100 dB during the game made the place deafening. Can't believe there could be a better atmosphere anywhere for a game.

In Michigan tonight and it was an outside event. Of course the topic of conversation while parents were gathering and waiting was a little about the game. Just listening without any Michigan gear on was enlightening.

Most of the the people talking and I really had no clue who they were other than State Fans were laughing saying wow now they are trying to say that the punt attempt would have been blocked anyway. This was all followed by Michigan had that game and should have won it. I did finally say thats good to hear from some honest people being a huge Michigan fan. When they are not bragging and talking among themselves, people are a little honest.

It was refreshing to see that not all State fans are idiots.

All of this conversation was followed by my tiny towns marching band playing Hail to the Victors, so they glanced over at me and said hey isn't that the Michigan Fight Song.

Go Blue!!

I'm worried. Wonder if recruits are too. If you look at his coaching history, Harbaugh is a 3-4 year guy. No reason to expect it to be different here. He already has wasted one of those years now.

He's lost his first B1G regular season game, something Urban Meyer is yet to do in 4 years of coaching. He's lost 2 games, something Urban Meyer took 2 years to do. And when he came in he had scholarship restrictions. He went undefeated his first year. Harbaugh had the good recruiting classes from Hoke and already messed up. Wouldn't be surprised if he left our shithole of a state sooner rather than later.

I'm on the phone so can't tell by points, but I'm guessing you're a troll.

1) Harbaugh will be here longer than 3-4 years because he loves this place (possibly more than anyone)
2) He has wasted nothing. In fact he has already laid a fantastic foundation and changed the attitude behind this program.
3) Meyer has done an amazing job at OSU but don't even try to compare the situations both coaches walked in. Meyer came in with an ideal QB in Miller, years of good recruiting, and only one down year (not to mention, being able to recruit while fickell was still head coach). Harbaugh had no QB, a clusterfuck OL, and basically a mess of an offense.
4) Michigan is one of the best damn places in the country and anyone with half a brain in Ohio knows that to be true.
5) Fuck off

Urban Meyer's first 5 games at OSU went like this:

(H) Win vs. 4 - 8 Miami (OH) (by 46 pts.)

(H) Win vs. 10 - 4 UCF (by 15 pts.)

(H) Win vs. 3 - 9 Cal (by 7 pts.)

(H) Win vs. 3 - 9 UAB (by 14 pts.)

(A) Win vs. 7 - 6 MSU (by 1 pt.)

So in summary:

1) He did not play a Top-5 West coast team on a Thursday night, at altitude, and with a QB one month in the system, all as his first game.

2) He got MSU's worst team under Dantonio and almost lost, not a Top-7 MSU (that won on a fluke play).

3) He had two tomato cans, a miserable Cal team that would fire their coach, and an okay UCF team. Only Miami (NTM) was a decisive victory. (He also escaped against Indiana by 3 and Purdue by 7, later in the season.)

4) He did all of the above with the BIG TEN POTY in Braxton Miller as his QB, and a back-up in Kenny Guiton that would have started at 90% of D1 programs, and with a 2nd round NFL pick RB in Carlos Hyde. All of which he INHERITED.

5) He ESCAPED with a 5 point win AT HOME against an injured Denard Robinson/new QB Devin Gardner/Al Borges OC/Brady Hoke team.

One could argue that Harbaugh's start is more impressive, even with the two losses.

Got it yet, nimrod?

There is still a chance that Harbaugh will win 10 games. The offense needs to improve but we got the defense to keep the opposing teams from scoring much!
