Joel Klatt sums it up perfectly
The amount of Twitter muscle being flexed by #MichiganState fans this morning is baffling...you won on a dropped punt snap

but my fear is that Dantonio will sneak out of MSU to SC before Harbaugh can beat that freaking guy.

We can't talk smack when we win because we're supposed to win and if we stay silent went people talk smack to us, we're being smug.
I just grin and bear it. Nod my head and agree with them and sound like the most reasonable person ever.
Then I wait for OSU to hang 40 on them again.

i can't possibly explain how much i hate that saying, so i'm not going to do anything.

"Pride comes before the fall." Please - let's not repeat and adopt a Dantonio saying like he has imparted some great wisdom we were missing in our lives. Yes, I know it doesn't originate with him but he's the one who brought it up to describe us. And now, we are repeating it like he taught us a great lesson. Just stop.

Agree. It is a good proverb but has been overused.

I personally would just ignore them, and whatever bullshit you have to endure, just make a mental note of it.
What goes around comes around. They will get their comeuppance, and soon.

But after looking it up I see that Benoit Balls are different. I didn't know those things even had a name.
I used to have a set of Ben Wa Balls in my collection of weird stuff. Gave them away, unfortunately.

I have the same problem. I am planning to treat them like they don't exist or congratulate and walk away. Treat them like a childish bully.

Good luck to you. I must admit I am counting my blessings today that I work with a bunch of very bookish types who don't seem too into sports. If I had to go to my previous job tomorrow I'd be borderline suicidal. Social media has been bad enough. My dickbag cousin who jumped on the MSU bandwagon in 2012 at age 30 (and who of course didn't attend MSU, but that's OK when it's their fans) is fucking insufferable.

Ask them why there was no pizza delivery anywhere on Saturday night...

bring that up every time if I lived over there and had to deal with State fans. The dude right behind me clapped in my ear the whole damn game. I didn't want to embarrass you guys as a fan base but that shit wouldn't fly at an NDSU game. That bitch would've been knocked on his ass. I know I talk big but I was close to it. Then I started getting backup from all the other UM fans around. Thank god. Dumb schmuck!

For those of us who no longer live there, was Ann Arbor just dead or was the atmosphere at least somewhat fun and hospitable?

I walked by two cops and one cop was congratulating bunch of Spartan fans. I would have thought it would a good idea not to indulge in this if you are a cop. I guess he didn't find any harm in that.
There was a house full of Sparties near the stadium. They were abnoxious. I have no idea how they found a house for all the sparties, in AA.
October 18th, 2015 at 7:23 PM ^
There were a lot of go green go white yells as we were walking back from the stadium. No amount of reasoning that it was a miracle would shut them up. I chose to stay at home after that, but I did see a lot of people heading out to celebrate/drink their night away.

I don't live there anymore either, but I know when Colorado '94 happened, it sucked the life out of an A2 Saturday night. And those who did go out were just going through the motions. Hard to get up for a night out after that kind of thing.
October 18th, 2015 at 7:27 PM ^
Definitely subdued. There were some loud, dumbass Spartans here and there but even some of their fans knew they'd gotten away with one and didn't say too much.

I heard some exuberant Spartans in the distance, but talked to just as many who were pretty tame given the nature of the ending to the game. A fair number of them seem to realize that they won on a play that may never happen again in their lifetime, at least the more introspective ones, as well as a couple here and there conceding that they honestly didn't expect to win.
October 18th, 2015 at 7:26 PM ^
That probably was the quietest I've heard the stadium while walking out and walking back into campus. There was people talking and maybe it was just the shock of it not letting me absorb everything, but there was pretty much no music being played and anyone that was talking was doing it queitly
