Hope you're feeling better soon.  If it means anything, mine burst in 2004.  This was after 5 days of moderate pain, during which I ran my usual 8 miles per day, and--me being me--I went running again within 5 or 6 days of the procedure.  I still had the drain in.  Hey, a guy's gotta do what a guy's gotta do, right?  I think that was during a bye week, but the week after, I had BBQ ribs and maybe a beer or one at a good friend's house.  I think that was maybe 10 days after the surgery.

But I remember a bad chill during the game, and thinking maybe I'd overdone it.  Everyone else thought I did too.  So then again, maybe take it easy.

Speedy recovery.

I was 15-16, at Phillips Andover for the summer.  Had just come back from a weekend daytrip in Boston...my stomach started hurting.  Worst pain of my life in my right lower quadrant (McBurney's Point).  Knew somethng was wrong when I couldnt puke or take a crap to make it go away.

Since I was a minor, I was stuck in the ED because the hosptal couldn't get in touch with my folks (their anniversary) to get consent until it became "an emergency".

Blech.  Bad times.

Jack-O Traveler Pumpkin Ale. Holy shit. Might be the best pumpkin beer I have ever had. Thank the creator that football season is almost here and the best time of the year for beer is now here. No time is better than autumn and winter for beer.

Lost an old friend today, my best friend's mom, she's been watching over us since the first day of kindergarten, 1969. Raising a Full Sail Session Lager to her now.

Watching the RedBlacks v. Allouettes in the kid's space in the lower level with the doorwall and windows open.  Wondering how did they get a better TV down here than what we have upstairs?

The 2 year old and I just got back in from fishing. Time to crack open a Molson Ice. Booyah.

Had a bunch of cucumbers in the fridge so I made a cucumber/lime/gin/mint concoction. Whoever figured out that those flavors mix perfectly deserves some kind of award.

Company anniversary tonight, ribeyes for everyone! That was the best company meal and maybe best free meal of any sort I have ever had. Drinking water and basking in a food afterglow.

Just killed my bottle of Eagle Rare 10.

Over the last two years, got into bourbon, to the point that Mrs/Dr Gopoohgo decreed that I can't open anything until I finish an open bottle (not a big drinker, and only on weekends).  Am on a buying hiatus until BTAC/Four Roses Limited Season rolls around...

Will probably open my Weller Special Reserve.  If I like it, I know where I can buy a handle to bunker.

for my wife tonight thanks to some really good friends. We are so lucky to have them all in our lives. Kids spent ridiculous energy in the pool, we had copious amounts of food and oh yeah, we drinkin'. Wine, beer, liquor you name it, we on it! I love life and Go Blue!

Blind Pig and Pliny the Elder back to back. A friend has a cabin in Mendocino and he picked up three of each for me on his way back down the coast. Have to say I prefer the Blind Pig. Too boozy is no good for me anymore.
