Saturday night drinking/summer memories thread

In elementary school, a friend would sleep over and we (along with my sister) would stay up all night, and then make coffee and go outside and watch the sun rise (yes, my mom did not have a lot of "rules" for us). We thought we were "grown up" and had so much fun. I can see us now, like I'm watching a movie. I hope my son has happy memories like that when he grows up, although he won't be drinking coffee or staying up all night as early in life as I was! haha
Tonight I just had some chardonnay.

After graduating UM buddy and I went on a road trip out west for three weeks. Never touched a freeway, only back roads. Was incredible. Slept in our car. Met great ladies. Hiked in the heavens. Surfed in SoCal. A great time in my life. Only cost $500.
Drinking H20 tonight.
$500? Did you do this in 1950?
2002. $500 a piece. Gas was pretty cheap. Free sleep in the car. Can be done ;)
Sticking on the theme from above but cruising around our neighborhood at age 5-6 on our Big Wheels was a pretty great summer

My family has a place up there too. I have gone there for 30 plus years. Best memories of my childhood are from up there.
From the time I was 1 yr old till I was 12 we spent all summer after school was out in a small town up in the mountains about an hour west of Denver. My folks rented an old cottage with coal-burning stoves for heat and cooking, and the entire summer was spent playing outside and up in the mountains hiking with my Dad and the family. If it hadn't been for all the family in the Detroit area I would have moved out there years ago.
We moved to the Vail Valley, from Chicago, 18 years ago. It was the best decision of our lives.
