Gawker is too busy getting revenge on Hulk Hogan's racist ass... Too many ignorant morons on the airwaves and media these days to keep track of.

He said nothing more than what other TV faces have said. They were just upset he was leaving for Fox. Still don't like the man though.

About damn time. I know it was mentioned he was leaving at the end of his contact but I really just didn't like that guy. His show was just awful.

On Wednesday, Colin Cowherd was being praised for his "classy explanation of his breakup with ESPN." LINK  On Thursday, he was tainting his exit with insensitive comments about baseball players from the Dominican Republic. By Friday night, despite his apology and his explanation for his poor choice of words on Thursday, he was gone before his planned exit next week. LINK

Cowherd said on Wednesday that he likes "taking risks."  He probably should've used those "classy" comments on Wednesday as his farewell from ESPN, instead of "taking the risk" of saying what he said on Thursday.

And now . . . more music from the stacks of wax!

And went out with a bang it was easy for ESPN to do since Colin was leaving to ESPN's rival Fox Sports. ESPN Values excuse is such BS they pick and choose who to suspend if they don't like said comments.

I enjoy Dan Lebatard on both radio and television... Is that ok or does the MgoCommunity find this mindless rabble as well and if so I will cease these practices and conform to more acceptable forms of sports related content.

but I'm also not thrilled when somebody is fired just because they might have offended somebody. We are becoming too thin-skinned and politically correct as a society.

Why should every opinion be respected because "hey it's just my opinion!"? Why can't people challenge stupid and inane "opinions" without being labeled as PC? He's a dumbass. The problem with this world is not PC people, it's idiots with opinions who think their opinions are as valuable as facts and actual respectful discussion based in real knowledge of a subject. Cowhurd is a perfect representation of anti-intellectualism that runs rampant in this society, not political correctness.

Not even going there. Bottom line Cowhurd was on his way out as it is and I'm sick of people apologizing for and even lauding these radio/TV personalities' ignorant and disrespectful opinions, especially with a lack of on-air dissent.

need to be respected. At the same time, every opinion which might be controversial, insensitive or even stupid doesn't warrant self-righteous condemnation and/or loss of employment. And you're half right. Idiots with opinions are a big problem, even more so when they have the power to inflict their idiocy on other people. At the same time, PC people are a huge problem today. They suppress honest debate about uncomfortable truths. In the process, both society and individuals are greatly harmed.

Agreed. I just can't stand a knee jerk "wow PC-ness is the downfall of the world!" responses when someone's stupid, ill-informed opinion rightfully receives criticism. As if an opinion like this supersedes the value of common decency and respect for others.

The fact is that their nation is extremely uneducated. We are driven by a "everyone deserves a trophy" movement. If you don't like competition, or facts, you might do better in North Korea or China. I am glad many on here voice true opinions, and I know he should have kept his mouth shut in his line of work sadly. We are becoming very weak as a nation.

Funny how the people that hate him the most are his most loyal listeners. The more he puts down the larger fan bases the more those people listen. Every time someone tells someone else what Cowherd said, the more money he makes because that person will turn his radio on or listen to his podcast. I thought he was entertaining. I could always tell when he needed to bump up his ratings because he would talk trash about MI, Cowboys, or NY Giants or some other large fan base.

now who am I going to get pissed off at during my lunch hour? Or maybe the better question is why did I find myself listening to this pompous jerk who never failed to make me want to yell at my radio?

But I hate it when people are fired for speaking there opinion or saying something that offends someone. That's what made this country great in the past and that's what is ruining it now.
