OT- A tradition unlike any other - Open Thread

I think your winner comes from the 1:59 tee time today.  Garcia, Fowler, and Day.  One of these guys is going to get a major soon, and it is kind of crazy that none of them have closed the deal yet.  Sergio has been hovering at Augusta lately, right there, just can't quite make the push.  I think he takes it this weekend.

It must be just a coincidence that Tiger is teeing off just as ESPN begins coverage.  I don't see that being intentional at all.../s.

I really hope Day is able to win it all this year. I got him in my DraftKings lineup and it'd be sweet to win their main tournament for the Masters with a $2Million dollar pool.

One of my favorite things about the Masters is seeing that somewhere in the country, it is actually spring. In contrast to the northern tier of the country, at Augusta the grass is green, things are blooming and birds are singing. Now if only they can perfect smell-o-vision, my allergies could kick in a few weeks early.

one of the great sporting events annually.  That said, I would be pleased to never hear the phrase "a tradition like no other' ever again.  Or rather never having to hear that hypocritical prig, Jim Nantz, at all, ever.

because he is such a relatable guy and he just gagged it away.  It would have been as remarkable as George Foreman regaining the title when he did or any other feat in sports, and he had it in the palm of his hands.  He did not trust himself to make a serious play with his chip on 18 and it was tragic to see.  And it hurt even more because it was not a fluke that he was there, he was legitimately the best player on that course for 71 holes.

Love the Masters, but i struggle with the theme being "tradition"... I get the Green Jacket and all, but i actually root for the new blood to win and shake up the traditional favorites.  I can't say Bubba Watson and tradition.  When i think tradition, its Yankees vs. Redsocks, Bears vs. Packers and, grandest of all, UM vs. osu.  To me, the Masters is about that:  Mastery over a 4 day period and handling the pressure.  It's not like we have the same 25 guys vying for the Green Jacket every year, so the tradition is passive...too passive to pass up THE GAME.  But, i will still be glued to the tube Sat and Sunday.
