he fumbles he just hasn't lost the ball

Also, Dion Lewis has speed. That's a big difference.

Actually, he really doesn't have top end speed. Also similar to Hart in that respect.

If you had them race side-by-side, Hart would be left in the dust.

couldnt go in the game thread?

I'm surprised that Pitt was able to find a replacement for Lesean McCoy, let alone someone who would do better.

I haven't seen Lewis play much, but Hart has balance and "brains," at least as far as using blockers goes, off the charts. I'm not saying Lewis can't have that - just saying that it takes more than being tiny and powerful and not fumbling to be like Mike Hart.

Not that it really matters, but Dion Lewis is from New Jersey
December 5th, 2009 at 2:10 PM ^
Dion Lewis is FROM New York, but went to prep school in New Jersey.

The run the same offense that we ran when we had Mike Hart as well.
December 5th, 2009 at 2:23 PM ^
Dion Lewis is good because he is shifty and quick. Hart was great because he was powerful and never stopped driving.
December 5th, 2009 at 2:32 PM ^
If you just saw that blitz pick up by him you would probably have changed your mind. Mike was a great blocker and Dion just moved out of the way on that play.
December 5th, 2009 at 2:42 PM ^
Not to be a stickler but Mike Hart played for Michigan, not Pitt.

I was just coming on here to make this exact same topic. you beat me to it. What cemented it was when millen pointed out that he doesn't have the top gear.
December 5th, 2009 at 4:15 PM ^
Millen was practically dangling from Dion's sack all day. I was surprised he had anything bad to say about him especially considering all the Barry Sanders comparisons even before the game started.
Suffice it to say, Lewis has had a phenomenal season and his first half was amazing today, but he looked human in the second half as Pitt seemed pretty intent to run him into the ground.

I came here to start this thread. He's very similar in that he has great balance and does an excellent job of making the first guy miss. At the same time, he's strong and can move the pile.
Their recruiting profiles are incredibly similar:
