Got about 12 of this guy's football cards. If the new coach is his son yes please!

Growing up in eastern PA, I still remember very fondly his dominating runs against the Cowboys in the NFC Championship game to make it into the Superbowl.
BTW, Philly really needs to return to the original Eagles green and helmet wings shown in the picture. Their current teal and the cartoon wings are meh, meh. meh.

I thought I remember reading somewhere that Doug Nussmeier told Harbaugh that compared to Alabama and the rest of the SEC, UofM was woefully understaffed re: recruiters and ancillary staff. Looks like he gets it!

Wasn't he a GA last year? What is he doing now?

Does OSU have these positions?

I'm going to bold, because a few people have asked this question and I remember reading quote from both Hoke and Harbaugh on this...AND beat writers around each.
Hoke is/was very WWBD (What Would Bo Do), the first problem is you're better off saying WWBD...in 2015. A lot of what Hoke did was very Bo 1980's. One of those things was a smaller staff. He's mentioned that he doesn't see a need in all of the extra. Bo didn't need it, why should he? SMH
Meanwhile, one of the first things I read about Harbaugh BEFORE he was even hired was that he likes a TON of staff. Particularly on offense. It's one thing I actually worried about when he was hiring assistants. I was worried we'd get too many guys on offense and have Mattison, Durkin and Jackson trying to handle the entire defense by themselves.
I remember going on the 49ers staff directory and seeing all of the staff he had, it was A LOT. So I did some research and saw that, yes, it's an NFL thing. Saban does it too. Staff out the yingyang. Those recruiting analyst positions? Same thing. I suppose that's what Kiffin was before he was OC.
Harbaugh is building a brand new machine. This is something we've never had. Not even under Bo. Harbaugh is changing the entire program, but with all of the background, history and tradition in mind. What was broke late in Carr's tenure, for Rich Rod and for Hoke...I think its all about to get fixed. Not just because we have coaches galore, but the entire menality. Alabama is a machine in the way they operate, it's NFL like, OSU is a machine. Oregon is also a machine, but they're like the foreign car or alternative version (see Chip Kelly's first year in Philly).
This is the new model and the new structure. If you want the old way, I suggest you move your focus to high school football. Because that has grown to be a lot like the old college football. While we're basically a semi-pro organization.

and/or special teams coach that would have fielded 11 players.

Yes, Harbaugh played for Bo and wants to honor Bo.
But he is not Bo's ghost. He's not going to do it the way Bo did. He is not forever recreating the past.
I think people get misled because of his style on offense. He is a very "modern"coach in all ways, particularly organizationally.

Would love to see this made into a diary post.
Thank you, Mr. Yost.

As I read this my jaw actually dropped. How ANYONE at any organization could look at resources available to them and say "No, I have NOTHING for those people to do" is beyond me.
This has nothing to do with the fact he's a nice guy; this is serious lapse of judgement. You play the cards you have, and one we have is greater resources. Again... just wow.

are you buying and buying support people? i would just get a comfortable chair and just watch. once in a while work with the qb's. do any thing to make us winners.

We have it almost all covered. A little more global warming, and we're there.

I would say that with Hokes football experiences he was not exposed to the modern day staffing needs to run a top notch football program. And DB was also clueless. DB would rather spend money on marketing then pay for the support staff to match the top ten programs in the country.

Was Harbaugh right not to want to work under Brandon, or what?
