OT - Bolivia Now a Desirable Destination?
The New York Times, in today's travel section, listed the "52 Places to Go in 2015."

Check out #8 on the list.
Do we need to find a new place to send those who misbehave?
Where should we send those who commit egregious MGoTransgressions?

I know Bolivia gets a lot of good-natured grief in here (and I know the origin), but actually it's an amazing place to visit. Mind you, it's not an EASY place to visit . . . despite what the article said, infrastructure is primative and transportation is far from reliable. The elevation will literally take your breath away, and you may spend the first few days in La Paz or Potosi sitting around your hotel with a headache sipping coca tea. But the people are wam and friendly, the culture (food, traditions, festivals) an exotic mix of European and indigenous, and the landscapes are jaw-dropping fantastic.
Southwest Bolivia, including the salt flats of Uyuni, is probably the most spectacular place I've ever visited, and as a geologist I've traveled all over the world.
If you're into adventure tourism you should check it out.
(This would also give you the opportunity to honestly add, "Posting from Bolivia" to your required contribution in here.)

Your avatar just got me fired. But it was worth it. May you not be sent to Bolivia.

I'll probably change it soon. Only put it up out of spite on account of the ridiculousness of the recent Avatar/NSFW discussion. Yes, I’m 4 years old.
