This is unfortunate for MICH and unfortunate for this website. To confidently report something like this (not even couched in caveats of "take it with a grain of salt") and be wrong really doesn't look good, especially when this site prides itself on not jumping the gun and wanting to be very certain rather than just take rumors at face value.
Whether or not this was an 11th hour change of heart, if it wasn't done, then don't report it and settle for not being one of the first to break the news. And if it was based solely on comments from a 2016 recruit then perhaps there should be more vetting. I'm sure many people come here (at least to the main page) precisely because they have confidence in the accuracy of the information. A certain amount of irony for a website with a recurring segment titled "unverified voracity" as a mocking dig at irresponsible journalism.

People say believe half of what you see . . . and none of what you hear.
The Internet wasn't really designed to promote our insatiable appetite for learning "breaking news" that's really more like unsubstantiated rumor than actual news, but that's what it has become.
Until a recruit actually enrolls or a coach has signed a contract to be employed at Michigan and has been officially announced as a Michigan coach (Thank You, Jim Harbaugh, Brian Cole and Alex Malzone, and Best Wishes for Success at Michigan), every tweet, every blog post, every email message and every carrier pigeon message dropped through your open window about the recruit or coach who is coming to Michigan should be considered little more than "Maybe News" (or for fans of Arrested Development, "Maeby Fünke News.")

This has been one of the more confusing weekends I can remember. Again, this is the internet and all, and I'm still going to trust Brian's sources over a guy from ESPN who cited FootballScoop, but at some point it may not be worth getting invested in any of this stuff until the guys are actually hired, as it seems like there are a bunch of agents dropping half-truths out there for money and/or people are just changing their minds at the last possible second.

Until you hear that the contract is signed and you see the guy in Michigan gear standing in A2 don't believe a damn thing!!!
This way, we all have less heartbreak and get kicked in the nuts a bit less during 2015.
Exciting things are ahead for all of us tho!!
Ps
Excuse my comments above for for the women MgoBlogers.

HELLO: Richard Simmons.
How quickly we get spoiled. We got Jim Harbaugh! We could have Schiano right now. Let that soak in....

The leaks could have just been over confident Michigan people who heard interested and conflated that to done deal. Most of the info we have been getting is from the Michigan side.
Turley didn't follow Harbuagh to the 49'ers, not sure why we were convinced he would come here and if his system is so amazing I'm sure he has an assistant we could hire.
