Tressel "They have no defense."
Is this for real? I can't find another source for the quote.

Ohio State at Michigan, Saturday (Noon ET): Shortly after Saturday's Rose Bowl-clinching win, Jim Tressel told his team: "You can have three hours and savor this, but when the clock strikes 12:00, we know what week it is." Then: "I'm just playing with you guys. They have no defense. ... Take a couple of days off."

Not a real quote.

Tressel is incapable of "joke."

A painful, accurate joke.

I said nothing of the sort.

Is your avatar a ghost-cat playing ping pong? Awesome if so.

wow...ghost cat is awesome!

I am really curious how much effort you've spent trying to find the quote elsewhere. Please break it down for us, including google searches you ran, websites you visited, and other message boards you searched or posted on.

That's so clearly the writer of the article making his own joke about something Tressel COULD say. No coach, and certainly not the sweater vest in this rivalry would tell his team to "take a couple of days off."

Tressel is many things.....a complete and total idiot is not among them.

Debatable.

Well use it as bulletin board material anyway, the players don’t have to know that it was a joke. This defense needs every bit of motivation they can get.

when it is true

I watched the press conference this "quote" came from. JT said the first part ("You can have three hours and savor this, but when the clock strikes 12:00, we know what week it is,") but not the second ("I'm just playing with you guys. They have no defense. ... Take a couple of days off.").

Well The Vest has no offense considering he has actually been with his program for more then 2 seasons and has more then one recruiting class that he can actually call his own.

I dont think it is going to help much.

If the linebackers hold up big bulletin boards, Pryor would have a hard time finding his receivers.
November 16th, 2009 at 3:14 PM ^
well it's sort of true, but he's still a doucher

Stewart Mandel is making a joke. Jim Tressel would never give any type of bulletin board material. (Even though bulletin board material couldnt save this defense)
