Players taking medicals? [Ed-S: ..or non-renew 5ths, or transfers]

Submitted by Streetchemist on
[Ed-S: Hoke said this:

"There's only 12 seniors in this class, we'll have some guys who are medical (redshirts) and that kind of thing, which gets us up to about 15, but this is a small class. Seventy-eight of our players are freshmen or sophomores, that's a lot of young guys."

And then Mark Snyder tweeted that into "3 medical redshirts coming!" And the OP posted that. The tweet has been taken down apparently for being misleading. If you want to read tea leaves they were talking about a class of 15 before. Carry on.]

St. Saban's Memorial Hospital.

If that's what this is all about, then it's probably guys who don't/won't play. You're talking about guys like Blake Bars.

I'm NOT saying it's Bars in any way...I'm just saying that if it's the Alabama way of things...those are the kinds of players that your mind jumps to.

Bars, Fox, Richardson, Strobel, Gant, Fox...I hate to name names, but I did, so sorry to those who get sensitive abou it. Just saying, that's where my mind went if this is an Alabama type medical hardship. Not Peppers, Green or Morgan.

The medical hardship to open up spaces for future scholarships because you oversigned is the route taken by Saban.  Michigan isn't hurting for scholarships, and at this point all Hoke's doing is opening up even more spots for the next HC to fill up in the 2-week window he'll have between getting the job and NSD.
