Saturday Drinking Thread

Figured it was the perfect time to start this, after the way the Tigers game just ended. I'm convinced that this has to be the worst first-place-in-August team in the history of baseball. I actually laughed during the inevitable bullpen collapse.
Anyway, I'm heading to Nashville tonight for some pre-season NFL action, going to be crushing quite a few local Tennessee craft beers. What's everyone else up to?

Just got our first puppy so hanging on the floor with my wife and some Lagunitas Daytime Session IPA and watching for signs of oncoming urine.

Oh and also making sure the puppy doesn't pee.

I just had Knee Deep Citra - Extra Pale Ale, Single Hop. It was really really good. If you like IPAs, Search out Citra Pale Ales. Such a refreshing beer.

Citra is a great beer. And Knee Deep is doing work in the Nor Cal foothills. We all love our San Diego MGoBloggers and their never ending list of great breweries (Ballast Point, Alesmith, Stone, Green Flash etc.) but Northern California puts out great beer year after year.

So, today was the first time I've had Knee Deep. I've stopped drinking stone because I don't necessarily agree with their kick starter attempt (yeah I know it's stupid, but I feel better about not buying it). I also have a Hoptologist that I bought. I was super impressed. I think I found my Stone replacement.

Started off with Bloody Mary at 10 am on the first tee and just finished dinner with a Star Hill IPA. Conversation at dinner devolved into who would win in the octagon: a chicken or a duck? Had some fictional sweet action going with most favoring the chicken.

Watching the first one on Netflix right now and with the addition of Fulton Reid to the defense they've really toughened up. Definitely willing to concede that Adam Banks is a cake eater, though.

After watching the Tigers debacle, I went with a pint of Bells Oberon and Two Hearted. I know it is boring but I wanted boring after the Tigers game. Now I'm ready to watch Maziel and the Lions play a game that doesn't really matter at all. Oddly, I'm looking forward to it.
