Available - Lots of old UM games on VHS.
My father, as big a UM fan as you'd ever find, recenty passed away. As a result we have a bunch of old VHS tapes with various UM games on them. I can't vouch for quality of any nor do I have a complete inventory as yet... I can't really do anything with them. So they'll likely just end up in the trash otherwise. I'm just throwing this out there to see if anyone would be interested in them for conversion/preservation purposes?
If anyone has an interest, please contact me at [email protected].

(and probably have no business sharing my opinion, but this is the internet so...)
I would probably save them. Probably would store them alongside a VCR in some large, hermetically sealed Rubbermaid bin in a garage, attic, crawl space, whatever. They meant something to your dad, I bet. And they already belong to the class of things that are underground in a time capsule and have been for 20-30 years.
It'll probably take another 20-30 years until you want to look at them to either have an old-timey moment (it won't be long before VHS technology feels identical to film reels and projectors) or connect with how you and your dad shared common hobbies/sports-passion, but I bet that day will come.
/sorry-for-sharing-these-opinions
/Even moreso: Sorry for your loss

I had the same situation, but MGoWife was pushing hard (nagging constantly) about donating the tapes to the local landfill. I put mine out to the board and they were snatched up by an MGoBlogger from Nashville.
I'm sure they will find a good home. Good luck!

I also have a pretty large collection of Michigan football games on VHS too (mostly mid 90's to mid 00's). I don't even have a VCR anymore so the wife gives me the hairy eyeball whenever she goes to clean out that closet. I must have a 100 of the things, but for some reason I just can't throw them out. I figure if Wolverine Devotee or someone else wants them, I would be happy to donate them. Or if you are looking for a particular game I'll check to see if I have it.
Hello. If you still have the VHS tapes, I would be interested. Please let me know? Thanks.

He already has most, if not all of those... I suggested the same in the last thread like this one.

What the heck. I'll put up my email here too. See my comments above about my collection. Ideally I would like to donate them to someone who will put the games up on the internet so that we can all enjoy them.

back in the 80's mostly. But, I've since thrown them out figuring A) almost no one has a VCR anymore, and B) I'll most likely never even attempt to watch them again. My bigger problem is the videos I took of my kids when they were younger. I hope I can find a local service to convert them to digital form - soon before they aren't watchable anymore!

I can convert them and upload them for everyone to watch. How many tapes do you have and what years do they cover?

If no one else needs them, I'm interested in storing/converting them.
If anyone else has any old Michigan football or basketball games on VHS or on DVD, please contact me. I collect old games as a hobby. Collect games from the 80's and 90's.
Also looking for Detroit Lions, Pistons and Red Wings tapes. Thanks.

Are the tapes already gone?
Dont mean to dig up an old post, but if anyone else comes across old Michigan games on Beta or VHS tapes, or even epsiodes of Michigan Replay, please contact me. I can convert them to DVD for you.
