So I ask what are your plans?

You could just keep the other ticket in your pocket, but whatever floats yer boat. Must be a Canadian thing, eh?

Beauty, eh?

in back-bacon grease. It will both taste better and slide down the hatch easier.

If friends do stuff I might skip it just because I don't think this game matters for either team. Minnesota won the B1G and is locked into Minneapolis as the 1-seed, a split doesn't get Michigan into the tournament.

Even with a win tonight we won't make the tournament? I thought we needed one win this weekend to have a good chance?

We needed 2 wins (this weekend plus next) to have a shot, 3 wins to clinch. I think that's still the case--if Michigan loses today, they will probably need to win the Big Ten Tournament next weekend, although they might have a shot if they make the finals by beating Wisconsin and lose to Minnesota again.
If Michigan beats Minnesota, they will have a shot at the tournament as long as they beat Penn State next weekend, and will be in if they beat Wisconsin as well.
Of course, that all depends on what upsets happen in the other tournaments...but tonight's game is probably very important for Michigan.

Right now we're #16 in the PWR which would mean we'd definitely be out if the today was selection day as conference tournament champions will certainly take the lower spots.
Just trying out USCHO's pairwise predictor, if the seeds hold out the whole way through (i.e. Michigan beats PSU, loses to Minnesota, no surprise bid stealers from other leagues), we'd come in at a 3-way tie for #14 - so just barely in. With there being one more league this year (CCHA,WCHA -> WCHA, NCHC, B1G) the odds are really small that no one outside the top 16 takes a bid. (And #15 and 16 may be taken by the AHA and ECAC champ anyway).
My gut feeling is that Michigan needs to win tonight and probably make the BTT final to sneak in and even then we might fall short. Fortunately, we only need to win three games to win the BTT. It's more than doable
I swear, if we played every night like we play against Minnesota we'd be a two-seed comfortably. We've played them really tough this year and then we go and play down to PSU

Please don't Gordon. Without you the Hockey open thread would be pretty bare.

Not sure if I should be impressed with myself or if I should get a life. Always glad to provide updates for those who can't watch

What do you mean you might not watch??? I will have to use the old MGOBLOG saying, "You shut your whore mouth!" (Not my words, but please watch and comment! Of course, as long as you have no better offers....)

Keep an eye on NC State/Duke. NC State and TJ Warren have been playing well and Duke is vulnerable outside Cameron.
As stated elsewhere, we need Duke and UVA to not win the ACC tournament in order for UM to secure a #2 in the dance (win or lose) or leap to #1 if we run the BTT table. I have a bad feeling that a loss against Ohio could drop us and our 8 losses to a #3.

As of now it seems Michigan is ahead of any of the ACC teams on the S-curve. Granted Duke beat Michigan, but neither Duke nor Virginia had much in the way of impressive non-conference wins (Duke's next best was UCLA, UVA beat SMU & VCU). If any ACC team was going to jump Michigan it was going to be Syracuse and with their loss in the ACC tourney that is no longer a likelihood. As long as Michigan wins the BTT I believe they will get a 1-seed. The one team we really need to lose (or beat) is Wisconsin.
I hear you. I'm just worried that our loss today (if it happens), coupled with the sheen that an ACC tourney win would give Duke/UVA, would be all the voters need to keep us at a #3. I have a feeling that Staee beats Wisconsin - while setting the game back approximately 30 years.

Did anyone just catch the Sports Science on Tom Izzo??
They tracked his heart rate and some other things during their home loss against Illinois.
Here is a link: http://www.freep.com/article/20140314/SPORTS07/303140093/michigan-state…
It just aired on college gameday on espn, so the video isn't online right now.
Funny stuff.
Oh, and for what I'm doing today.
Just trying to watch every basketball game on tv/espn3, and then watching our seniors beat the #1 team tonight.
Go Blue!
Watched it this morning. It was fun to watch Izzo's sideline antics translated into meaningful signs his body was falling apart.
Stuaskas hit these 3 free throws and we need a stop on D!
