Help finding a pair of Rose Bowl Tickets
I haven't put up a post on the board in well more than a year, but my wife shocked me Christmas Day. (Beth is my avatar pic, a few years back.) She told me she is willing to go to the Rose Bowl. I can manage to get out to LA, but as a preacher in the Chicago area, I can't (or won't) spend thousands for tickets. Beth wouldn't go for that.
If anyone here has a pair of tickets they'd be willing to let go to me at face value, even a good bit more, but less than market cost, please contact me at srkass at fifcc dot org. Or, if you can suggest another way I can look for tickets, let me know. Thanks much! Steve. (I suppose most all of the readers here would also love to go, but I at least have to try, and this is the only way I know how to look.)

So you came into pastor SRK’s thread where he is semi-desperately looking for tix, and you bought the tix out from underneath him? Did that happen?

If it did happen, c'est la vie. God is good, and if I'm meant to go, it will happen. I wouldn't, couldn't, blame another Michigan fan for picking up tickets if they were able to pick up tickets and go. (As long as they don't pick them up and sell them on the open market!)

XM, yep, that happened. It appears umgoblue2008 bought the tickets. Oh well, you snooze, you lose. I had an extended family post Christmas party today, and wasn't able to get to email fast enough. Sigh. Such is life. Maybe I'll get lucky and someone else will reach out. Thanks for thinking of me!

Hmm, questionable. It's not as simple as, "oh well, you snooze, you lose." Sorry SRK, you got hijacked.
There are unspoken rules of engagement within this tight-knit community. Respect the OP's thread, intent/situation and don't hijack when there are other means. Not cool.

No bueno. Mgo-pimp-your-ticket-search.

That's some assholery right there.

To set the record straight I did not sell the tickets to UMgoblue2008… I did sell the tickets through the alumni association, which I would recommend everyone to go look there as there seems to be a decent amount of people selling tickets.
OP emailed me later in the evening after I had already sold the tickets.

Good to hear, thanks.

No problem whatsoever. Even if you had sold to UMgoblue2008, it wouldn't have bothered me. Just selling to a Michigan fan is a great thing. And thanks for the opportunity . . . I had to wait until I nailed down flights.

Also, remember that the Michigan Alumni Association has a ticket exchange. Link: https://alumni.umich.edu/athletics/alumni-ticket-exchange/
You have to be very quick on the trigger. I have contacted four different sellers and the tickets are usually gone in 15 minutes or less. However, most are willing to sell at their cost and without added fees.
Currently, the least expensive seats for the game are in the $489/each to $535 range (includes fees) on TickPick. These are endzone corner seats usually above Row 60. Least expensive Michigan sideline seats are about $850 each in the upper rows.

Do you have to be part of the alumni association? Nonetheless, I will check this out tomorrow. Thanks for the advice!

No requirement to be an alum to use the exchange (if you don't have a Michigan email address you can log in with LinkedIn, Facebook, Google, Microsoft, or the f/k/a Twitter). It is peer-to-peer ticket sales, so the only requirement is that you are not anonymous to the other users.

I posted there looking for tickets, but I didn’t realize that a umich email was not required. I’m somewhat concerned about the potential for scams due to the peer to peer transaction. What’s the recommended process to minimize the possibility of getting scammed?

Will you use tithe money to go?
December 26th, 2023 at 10:45 PM ^
Great question! But nope, tithe money is gone, and then some, and gladly so.

Nah, that’s spent on essentials like the PJ to LA, the suite at the HBA, and the rental Lambo for the long weekend. God is good!

HaHaHa. Nah, I'm doing this trip as cheaply as possible. Flying in on United buddy passes. Staying in a niece's 1 bedroom apartment. Don't think I can fit into a Lambo. But yes, looking at a possible several day long trip, and yes, God is good.

$500 for this kind of game would be a steal.

I have 2 extra in section 6.

This won't help the OP since it's just 1, but I have 1 I'm trying to sell to a Michigan fan for the Rose Bowl in section 14H row 19. Looking to get $495, since that's the cheapest pre-fees price I see on the secondary market in that section - this way we can both avoid fees. Reply here if interested, I'll check back

I just need 1. Let me know [email protected]

Hey, I messaged you but haven't heard back. Let me know if you're still interested

UPDATE from OP: Wow, things are really falling together in a wonderful way.
- Thursday, I found out I "should" be able to get there and back from and to the Chicago area on United and American Airlines with my wife. (pray that Beth and I would both be able to get out there on Sunday afternoon.)
- Friday morning another mgopartisan graciously and generously sold me a pair of excellent tickets, a bit below face value, in the Michigan section.
- I did a student internship out in the area 30 years ago, when I went to my first Rose Bowl. I have parking and seats set up 2 minutes from the parade route with old friends.
- We have a day and a half to spend in the LA area Tuesday and Wednesday, heading back Wednesday night.
Things could scarcely be better. As mentioned above, the only weak link is getting out there on Sunday. Thanks to all who were willing to help a fellow Michigan fan out!
