People immediately shouting greed at the kid and throwing shade, but his coordinator left. Most of these kids don't commit to schools, they commit to coaches, so maybe he's not the one that needs to grow up..

I don't like it, but if you put yourself in the young man's shoes, you can kind of understand.
Apart from the NIL and QB situation, for some, going out of state for college is attractive: to go away and grow up. Can't slag UCLA's academics either. And FWIW kids going to USC and UCLA this next year will have a chance to play a lot of PAC12 teams and then a lot of B1G teams, giving them a somewhat unique experience. Wish him luck, and move on.

Good for him. He'll probably put up gaudy numbers under Kelly (DTR racked up a combined 3,500 yards and 36 TDs this season) but not win anything significant.

I believe that this is not good news for anyone-player or school. There are exceptions to every "rule" but when kids make these kinds of recruiting splashes things do not, generally, turn out well.

A hypothetical scenario.  Let's say you're working with Michigan's staff in a support role - and, one of the coaches approaches you for your opinion.

This is the scenario.  Dante Moore reached out to one of Michigan's coaches and asks - "Would you still want me?  If you do, I'll sign my LOI with you."

What do you do?   What questions would you ask?   Would you say "yes", "no", or "maybe"?
