Personal Game Thread Reflection
Game Threads bring out the worst in us, so I thought this might be a good time for us to look back and laugh at our own worst takes.
I’ll start:
12:47: “Paper Tiger D like the last time here”
1:04: “Remember we ran out of town the guy who beat this same D?”
1:14: “JJ looks worse than O’Korn in 2017. By a lot”

If you know you do it, why do you do it?

I'll edit it in to your opening post.

Personally - that 4th quarter felt like a blackout of pleasure, and I only drank water!

I never thought of it that way.

I only sift through the aftermath of the game threads. You will rarely find me in them - I personally can't abide by the "in the moment" lamentations of most people. "The State Of Our Open Threads", in fact, developed as a response to reading the cesspool of hot takes in those threads, as a way to keep me sane when moderating.

My least favorite thing about big wins is that people all of the sudden think their every single thought or idea is worthy of a post for some reason

I stopped posting (more or less) at the end of the half. My last comment was that the game felt like our prior games but in reverse, with us getting dominated except for a couple huge plays. Thought we would get spanked in the second half.
I put my phone away and held my baby girl and enjoyed the second half. She slept peacefully through everything until the second Edwards run, at which point she woke up for some victory milk.

Will Purdue be a 22 point favorite? Asking for a friend.

I’ll bite. I live in southwestern Ohio, about 20 miles north of Cincinnati. My street is chock full of mouthbreathing OSU fans. They all had their flags and banners out this morning. There are none flying now. Good night from Ohio.

TL;DR

I lost my dad last year, so it will be hard to ever beat that moment winning that game and knowing he was there with me and us all for it. This came close, my friend who I’ve watched games with for 20+ years was in Florida for the game last year, this year we watched together, we hugged, we danced, we drank, we smoked cigars. JJ said it, works not done, but it’s hard to get sweeter than today

I didn't see the game. The first quarter I was getting ready to leave for a class and my husband was watching. He's usually very calm and positive but he was writhing in pain and frustration over what he was seeing. I asked a few questions: Is Corum playing? (So far, yes) Is it still salvageable? (Yes) I left for class and started to have a very strong sense that we were going to win. A quick check of MGoBlog and people were fairly upbeat (now 3rd quarter) so the feeling kept getting stronger. A bit later, my husband sent me a text. It was a gif of Brittney Spears doing a little dance. I have no idea why he picked that gif. I don't like Brittney Spears and as far as i know, neither does he (though he does like Lizzo). I texted back: "Record the ending if it's not too late." Then he sent me the following screen shot, and I responded, "Holy fucking shit."
