Playoff seeding hypotheticals

Would you agree the order is firmly set as:

1.Georgia

2.Michigan

3.TCU

4. To Be Determined

I don't think any 1 loss team is going to jump TCU, so are we pretty much h locked in with the horned frogs?  I like that match up.  A lot.

We just beat the undefeated #2 team, on the road, without our heisman contender RB (and his backup playing in a freaking cast). We won by 22 points. The team we beat hadn’t won by less than 10 points all season, including beating up on ND. Georgia has a great resume also, but why is it a given that they are #1?

If USC beats ND and Oregon they are in. If they lose either one, however, Alabama might very well get in over OSU despite having a second loss because neither of Alabama's losses were bad losses. Both were exceedingly close games. OSU lost very badly at home to a team w/o its best RB.

Now if LSU beats UGA (unlikely) I think they'll both make it. If UGA beats LSU in a nail biter would they have a case vs Alabama despite a 3rd loss??? (I doubt it)

1. Oregon lost and if Washington wins in a little while, Utah plays USC in the title game.

2. Even though I think they aren't good, a 2 loss Clemson who is a conference champion should make it in before Alabama who didn't even win their division.

3. Neither of them will be in so it doesn't matter.

Chaos ensures Ohio State remains alive at No. 4. If USC loses tonight, Buckeyes remain playoff bound with no impediments because everyone else is risking their future going forward. Clemson is out and there is no other 1-loss team that could take their place.

Agree. There is a very strong possibility that both UM and OSU are in.

Their only loss is to the now #2 Wolverines (that feels good).

USC & TCU have to win out. One of those can fail if LSU runs the table and wins the SEC as they'd be in.

So a lot of chances for OSU to get in and that sucks

Commitee prioritizes match ups over fairness and giving SEC easiest game.Expect a Michigan vs USC  and Georgia  vs TCU provided USC and TCU  win out.

I'm all in on OSU at 4. I want to play them in the national championship. And not because I'm saying they suck, because a rematch for a national championship would be one of the most epic things in the history of the rivalry.

Not at all. This rivalry is great when it's played once a year, winner take all. Yes, I'd believe this even when Michigan loses. It's so taxing for the players and fanbase that it loses a bit if they just run it back a few weeks later. Again, it's a principle thing over matchup or anything else.

That said, they're very much in it. USC can't lose another and be in over them. TCU is in, IMO.

So IMO, UGA, UM & TCU are in. That last spot depends on USC winning out or LSU beating UGA to win the SEC. That would put them in as well.

If USC loses any game from here out and LSU doesn't win out OSU is likely in. Their only loss would be to Michigan. No way a 2 loss gets in over them and the committee is not afraid to have rematches.

I just don't want it.

I think if USC looks real good in wins over ND and Oregon they will move to 3 and TCU would be 4, rewarding UGA with the "easier" matchup.  Hopefully this doesn't happen, but they've punished the Big12 before.

I think there's an argument to be made that you beat the #2 team in the country, late in the season, at their place, by a lot, you should be #1, even if Georgia jumps us the following week.

But, I don't really care. They can do whatever with the seeding as long as we don't have to play Georgia first. I think TCU and USC are both difficult but winnable games against teams that are scary but not as scary as Georgia.

USC controls their destiny.

3 undefeated will go as you put it.

Now….if USC drops one and LSU also loses to Georgia…#4 is going to be…

Don't be surprised to see Georgia "lose" the SEC championship game to LSU to:

1.) Get another SEC team into the CFP

2.) Strategically get a better match up in the first round of the playoffs.

SEC money is no joke.

Any chance Blake is back to 100% health by the time of the CFP?  I would not want OSU to get into the playoff, but it would be a delight to see us bludgeon them with a health Blake and Donovan in the backfield.
