Well, if this is a rebuild year this year, what the hell are we gonna call next year? Let’s just assume only Dickinson leaves early, our best players are all still leaving. Sad thing is we need both shooters and inside players for next years roster. You’ll have Moussa and Reed as your only big men.

Honestly fuck those officials, neither team played a good game but numerous times UM got no calls on contact. Pretty much before garbage time OSU getting those calls on the other end was the difference in the game. The Diabete phantom steal foul was also a 4 point swing. Fuck Big Ten officials, they are pathetic literally every year and the league just keeps bringing back the same guys.

I would like to go back to a crucial moment at the 4:43 mark of the second half. The ball was tied up and ruled Ohio ball. However, it should have been Michigan ball due to a tie up at the 10:30 mark when Kyle Young went to the floor and gained possession for Ohio. Is this a home scorekeeper blunder? The only reason I ask is because Liddell immediately went down and hit a three marking a 3-6 point change in score at a crucial point in the game.

This team is missing an elite wing that can create his own shots and a consistent knock down shooter. Every good Michigan team of the last 10 years has had at least one or both. Sophomore Dickinson would be lethal with a Livers, Wagner, Stauskas or someone else to space floor and get defense moving. It’s too bad this year didn’t line up with all the pieces but it is what it is. Still rooting like hell for them to make the tournament though.

Matched them in two point and three point makes, had more assists, more rebounds, same steals and and a few more turnovers. It really appears the free throw disparity was a big difference in this game and it’s like that any time O’Neill or Cartensen officiate our games. I wish our AD would look into this shit, you can go back to Beilein and it’s the same shit all the time with those fucks

That was my first thought too, but I looked at the stats and half of their free throws came in the final minute when we were intentionally fouling and from Juwan’s technical. Outside of those, the difference was minimal.

I still think this team is capable of playing really good basketball- we saw that against Purdue. We just haven’t seen it consistently. Hopefully they can put together a run to get them into the tournament. Once you make it there, anything can happen.

Need to hit the portal this off-season and find a couple of knock down shooters to help spread the floor or it will be more if the same next year.

I wish somebody could do a full look at  the analytics of this team to find out where they fail so badly. I thought it was just a very poor shooting team but I compared their season shooting stats to one very good team (Gonzaga) and one better than average team (MSU). The three point percentage for all three schools is the same at 38%. The field goal percentage as a team is Zags 54%, UM 48%, and Sparty at 46%.

I have no illusions that this team is better than it is, but every game I watch I can't help but wonder what the scouts saw to rate Houstan as a five star. People are talking about him going to the NBA, but I don't see any skills or even physical traits that make him better than Zack Novak. Am I insane?
