It's AWESOME that the ladies are getting the attention they deserve. On the other hand, if the muppets were on the front page (as they should be) casual readers of the board could see just how badass this team is.

Great win! Wonder if we can be a sneaky team to reach the final 4? Last year we just barely fell short to the eventual champs (if i recall - didnt baylor win it?)
Its awesome to be so good at so many things... makes for a fun random weeknight to be able to watch hockey, then softball (soon), then women's bball etc...
My wife laughs at me for watching sports i dont care about, but i care about them if they're associated with UM!

Stanford beat Arizona in the final. Aari McDonald of the Wildcats was a lot of fun to watch, and they beat Indiana in the Elite 8. We narrowly lost to Baylor in OT in the sweet 16.

I think being #6, beating #9 Bayor and #5 Indiana precludes Michigan from being a sneaky team.

yeah, we're definitely past the point where we can sneak up on anyone...but we're also probably not at the level where 'casual' fans think we're an elite program, either. south carolina, uconn, baylor...those teams are like duke / kentucky / sparty are for men's basketball, at least in terms of "non-fan" awareness. we need to do this for another couple years before we'll be at that level.

ok, that was kinda my point. That people wont think of us as contenders, even as a 2 seed or a 1. People will run to the usual contender list ... casual fans at least. Its great to see them crushing it and rising up in big spots.
Also, yes baylor lost, but how they lost is beyond me. they were incredibly good last year.
I kind of see WBB as I see our baseball team. We arent viewed the way SEC teams are view in Baseball, but we made the final 3 years ago and we've been a good team.
Keep winning and eventually people (public) see you as a threat even if you're not in the sweet heart of dixie.

totally - and i love the comparison to the baseball team.
i see that this morning's bracketology has us as a 2-seed, which...holey moley. we've never hosted an ncaa game, this might be the year!

A really great game that I caught pieces of throughout the night. Other than a little spurt in the 2nd quarter UM kept IU at distance for a lot of the game and really does look like a championship-level team if they can keep up the defensive intensity. I believe IU was down a key starter in this game but even so they're one of the best teams in the country and UM ran them down. Good chance for a deep run in the tourney.

It was so shocking to me that Michigan won by double digits while having 25 turnovers! It really speaks to two things: Indiana plays tight D, their press caused many of those and Michigan could play better, too. Overall, great win! Go Blue!

Watching the game on tv, I think I saw that Coach Howard was at the game.

Yeah, he frequently watches a lot of their games…and this was a big one. Howard is truly a great ambassador for the school. That’s another reason I want this years mens team to find a way to turn the corner and make some noise (aside from my selfish reasons of watching them win for my entertainment). Go blue!
