MGoSurvey: Football Head Coach

Submitted by NYC Fan3 on December 31st, 2020 at 11:23 AM

On the eve of ushering in a new year, I wanted to get the pulse of MGoBoard Users.  Below this thread I will post 2 responses.  Upvote response 1 if you want Harbaugh as head coach of the team in 2021.  Upvote response 2 if you want to see a new head coach for 2021.

I’m requesting 2 different upvotes so we can see a gross total of votes, rather than 1 response utilizing upvotes or downvotes and only showing the net difference.

I hope that everyone reading this has a safe and healthy new year.

Upvote because a new HC means drastic changes across the board. It would cut both ways. If Jim does remain as HC, he'll need to clean house of his staff. Am still mixed about Gattis as OC.

Because we still don't know if Harbaugh will go the NFL or not as of today's date, this could be a moot point. It won't bum me out if Jim leaves for the NFL. I also don't like that Jim's late final decision is leaving this football program in more disarray.

Please explain how Jim’s late final decision is causing “disarray”? Heard that same argument with early signing period and it turned out to be untrue.

Maybe it’s exactly what Harbaugh/Warde would have us believe: Details are being worked out. Two honest men with a mutual respect may have a plan and are executing that plan.

I for one am tired of all of the “need to know” before something is official. It’s making people crazy because it’s so quiet!

I think harbaugh can get Michigan to 8-10 victories fairly consistently; occasionally maybe 11. I think that is his ceiling as well as any other Michigan Man out there. I think if Michigan wants to do better, which I don’t think they really care to, they need to hire a guy that will do what Saban did. Come in and throw all the success we had between the 70’s-90’s into the archives of the program. Most recruits don’t know much about Bo or Mo or Fritz, or Yost, and quite honestly, they probably don’t give a shit. The program needs a total remodel, needs gutted, this whole Michigan Man BS has kept Michigan average. It’s not 1988 anymore, Saban remodeled Bama, they were stuck in the Bear model. This process at Michigan would be difficult and maybe even impossible as there are too many blue hairs who are stuck at doing shit the way Bo did it. We have to move on.

Exactly. And that’s fine, we’ve seen where that can take us. I’ve read a lot about what Saban did when he took over Bama, he pissed off a bunch of their blue hairs or crimson hairs, whatever, but he basically threw a lot of that history away (figuratively). Granted, it may take us several tries to find that guy, he needs a plan, he needs to be organized, and he needs to be committed as well as confident. I think Michigan just keeps stepping on its own dick; in other words, what keeps Michigan being what we want, is Michigan itself.

If i win the lottery, i will try and buy the site from Brian and bring it up to 2021 level.

I'd hire Brian to stay on as a writer and sign him to a 20 year contract at a rate 2x of his highest gross year in the past 3 years.  He would receive an inflation bonus of 5% a year.

Seth would continue on with his current analysis and Podcast duties, he would also oversee a business manager who would work on the ads and visitor analytics of the site.

Interns would be utilized to cover game recaps for Football, Basketball, Hockey, Softball, Soccer, etc.

There would be a new message board allowing off-topic discussions.  Think like going on a guys trip to Nashville, what golf course, bar would you recommend?  Moving to Asheville, where you advise i live?  First time voice teacher reaction videos to Tool - Discussion.

Rob F and Unicorn would continue their services, but would be paid.  They would also oversee some intern mods.

I've only had 5 minutes to think about this, but that's where i am at.

I vote stay, but only because I wasn't very impressed with the names being thrown around as replacements. Matt Campbell in particular seems like a choice the fan base would quickly regret.
