2021 Top 100 CB Ceyair Wright announcing Jan 2nd. Releases final list.
He'll be announcing at the All-American game. Final list of Notre Dame, USC, Nebraska, Arizona State, Stanford and Oregon. USC is the clear front runner.
He's supposedly into acting, will be starring next to LeBron James in the new Space Jam. But he also is supposedly strongly considering business school. Might ultimately come down to what career path, business or acting, that he wants to take after football but all signs point to USC. Here is what he had to say about his most recent visit to Michigan.
“I had a great visit to Michigan in November and it really opened up my eyes. I was there for a game weekend and even though we couldn’t watch from the stands, I still was able to get a feel for how much passion and energy the fan base has there for Michigan football.
“Michigan is a great academic fit and I like their style of defense. They play a lot of man coverage and leave their guys on an island out there and I like that. David Long is from Loyola and he always talks up Michigan and I can see why after my visit.”
Given the fact we don't even have a defensive coordinator right now and that our "style of play" might end up being vastly different than what he is referencing, this will be a tough one. Unless we hire a DC right now and put forth a compelling presentation for him, I don't like our chances at all. But weirder things have happened in recruiting.

So we didn’t make his top list?

Whoops! We are most certainly on the top of his list. People think it's really coming down to USC, ND, and Michigan.

I believe ND has the edge after he took an unofficial to them a couple weeks after visiting Ann Arbor

Yes but........ I am pretty sure I saw a graphic from USC on early signing day touting 5 four-stars they signed for the secondary in this class. (I tried to confirm on 247 but hard to tell as they have 3-4 four-star "athletes" listed along with a CB and S.)

I was thinking the same thing?

Did you forget to include Michigan in the list of finalists?
This was a confusing post until I clicked on the link.

Yup! Sorry bout that. I copy and pasted the list from Maize n Brew, realized that they had mentioned Michigan before but I had not. Were definitely a finalist! Top 3 with USC and ND.

EDIT: Top list is Michigan, Notre Dame, USC, Nebraska, Arizona State, Stanford and Oregon. USC is the clear front runner.

We aren't on his final list. I put the odds of him choosing M very low. But nice post.

U is in his final list, per Ceyair's own social edia. OP copy/pasted from a website that talked about UM right before the paragraph OP copied. Supposedly UM top-3 with ND and USC

With no DC here, we have virtually zero chance. I hope the coaches have a plan b and c at CB.

Dont under estimate the power of JJ Mac.

Right now we must give into the process of ironing out the staff. That is the priority over personnel. I wish it would happen faster and involve a new HC, but who knows. Regardless, it's hard to get too invested in recruiting until that's hashed out as you mention.

I was confused too. I read the article for clarification and Michigan is in the final group of 7.

We've put out our fair share of actors. Maybe we can send him a video of James Earl Jones talking about the B-school.

Cali kid deciding late and still doesn't have a clear leader?
He's going to USC

I’ll take, ‘things we’re not going to get for
$600 Alex.’

Alex? :.(

Maybe he can suggest and bring his own coach?
December 24th, 2020 at 12:37 PM ^
How does any star defensive player pick a team that has no idea what it wants to do and defense going forward?
December 24th, 2020 at 1:47 PM ^
Because they want to start as a true freshman. If that's his top priority we have a chance. Probably our only chance.
December 24th, 2020 at 5:32 PM ^
And must retain Zordich.
December 24th, 2020 at 4:40 PM ^
Not likely.
December 24th, 2020 at 6:23 PM ^
I'm not sure why it would be in any Top 100 player's best interest right now to choose UM. We just don't have the stablility right now.

He gone.

You have to love the name. His first name sounds like an airline, and his last name is Wright, so it fits perfectly. Must get!
