MBB vs Ball State post-game snowflake thread
Livers’ mid-range game is superb.
Franz may be heating up — more aggressive today.
Smith and Brooks are both excellent facilitators.
Enjoyed seeing Khalid El-Amin’s kid.
That Bumbalaugh kid (#2) looked like he belonged on a Wisconsin team (moxie, deadly step-back 3, at least two flops that I saw)
What did you all notice?

Good game. Ball state got some garbage threes at the end. Score closer than their performance.

This team is going to be entertaining all season. I see a .500 record on the big ten again. Some upsets, and some nights where we are upset.
Offense has sky high potential, but this defense...woof. The # of blow bys by MAC players has been brutal to watch. MSU, Illinois, and Iowa are going to get bucketssss Against us.

I played hockey growing up... be gentle...
but could you possibly roll out a Dickinson, johns, livers, Wagner, brown line up and just overwhelm the other team?

Teams would just press that lineup and expose the fact that none of those players are elite ball handlers into turnovers and easy offense for the other team.

I really like this team, but so far I'm not convinced that they'll be able to score consistently against good teams. I know it's a game of runs, but some of the runs that these less talented teams have put up are a little concerning. (Concerning as in "we'll probably lose some games we could have won" and not "losing sleep about the direction of the program")
Regardless, they're easy to root for and I'm super excited to see the development of everyone throughout the season. Really enjoying watching Howard coach, and I cannot wait to see what Dickinson looks like with a few more games under his belt!

I guess I am in the minority about the rotation, who starts and how many minutes everyone gets. The strength of this team is it’s depth. We have a lot of guys that can contribute, but some of them need playing time to develop and JH needs to experiment with all the pieces. There are a lot of new players on this team and it will take some time to get it all to gel.

Dickenson needs more touches in the paint. First double double of his career. Zeb Jackson looked more aggressive today but man they have so many options at starting lineup which is awesome. I just wanna see them play an actual opponent and Sunday is there first real test. Thank you coach Howard!! GO BLUE!!

Nothing, wake me up when they face a team with a pulse. However, will give credit got not getting upset by a lesser team

“Team with a pulse”. Do you consider tournament teams to be teams with a pulse? Because one of the two (Bowling Green or Ball State) will most likely be tournament teams.

Nobody wake him, he sounds like he needs the sleep.

I like what Howard is doing right now with his lineups. It looks like they are practicing several looks to help build chemistry across the board.
The officiating was suspect last night with Brown - sucked the life out of him

He's playing right bench this season.

I can't wait to see Dickinson against Garza. Those could be epic battles, like Laimbeer/Parrish, Chamberlain/Russell.
I think the kid should be able to hold his own.

Fun to watch them develop. Really want a big year for Livers.
The Big Ten is just loaded. I don't see us finishing higher than Illinois, MSU, Iowa, Wisky, or OSU, but we might be able to snag a win or two from those teams. Purdue is probably in our group of teams. Even Northwestern looks decent this year. Rutgers and Maryland will be in our group too. Indiana is probably a hair below us. Not sure on Nebraska, Minny, or Penn State.
Do well and maybe finish 6th, or if one of the top 5 teams slips 5th. Underachieve just a little and it could be 9th or 10th. I'm predicting 7th.
