Iowa WR Oliver Martin, former Michigan WR, is in the Transfer Portal
Well, this is a weird story. Come on back, maybe?
I understand your point about the class, but Collins was a highly rated (mid to high 4 star) WR who Saban wanted too. Yeah, DPJ would have gotten the most votes for the best WR in the class, but I'd put Collins a strong 2nd.

Looks like he'll be taking his lunch pale somewhere else. Scrappy kid.
His lunch pail will pale in comparison.
I thought he was making a sly joke about Martin being melanin-challenged in the WR room, and therefore the stereotype of him having to be “scrappy”
If the situation at Iowa wasn't ideal, or what he thought it would be, sitting out a year during COVID to go somewhere with immediate playing time makes a lot of sense. Thomas Rawls was an NFL caliber running back, but he didn't fit at Michigan.
Very few people can excel in any situation. Tom Brady and the Bucs and Bill Belichick without Brady will be prime examples of that this year. If they both make the superbowl they'll both be GOATs. If they both suck the fit argument will be applied.
Like most of us, I don’t know the kid. JH jumping into the pool recruiting him was classic. It was very apparent that UM really tried to keep him (they saw something) but in Iowa and earlier at UM he never broke into the starting lineup. He did have some shots during games. Kind of a mystery for why he hasn’t excelled, hoping the best for him.
Seems like, based on summer news stories, Iowa is a toxic environment for football.
For some reason, he's unhappy-somethings not right. So maybe 3's a charm. Good luck to Oliver in his 3rd pick. There's no room for him even he wanted to come back to Michigan.
Wish him luck, but there may be a reason he's now left two P5 programs without making a mark. Hope he finds a place where he is happy.
