On the basis of the data published in that paper, we compute that the rate of ACL injury in the nonbraced cadets was 3.0 times higher (95%CI: 1.0-9.2) than in braced cadets. It should be noted that the number of ACL injuries was small. Only 16 ACL injuries occurred: four in the braced and 12 in the nonbraced condition.

I don't care what anyone tells me or what anyone tried to prove. I have plate and coached on that stuff for years and my knees always felt and feel shitty after I had to play or even coach on that stuff for days in a row. The more you look the more people are changing to the turf as its cheaper in the long run they say, but i say it's more costly because of the injuries.
