OT: Help bring the X Games to Detroit - Vote on Facebook
As many of you know, ESPN is deciding between Charlotte, Austin, TX, Chicago and Detroit as the host city for the next three X Games. They posted a place where fans can vote on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/questions/10151478891176964/
By no means will this be the ultimate determining factor but it can't hurt to show the enthusiasm to bring the X Games to Detroit.
Its summer, we're bored, why not?
People still watch the X-Games?
Huh...
PASS
That'd be pretty awesome for the city if this happened. Unfortunately, I could not care less about the X Games, so I'll leaving the voting to the people who do care.
Voted. It would be awesome to see Detroit get this.
Bring on a bunch of kids doing tricks on their bikes. Should be fun.
SPAMtown USA, bitches!
Yea that's right.
Keep them off my lawn.
But seriously, voted. I don't really care about the X-Games but anything positive for the city!
How about the thousands of people it would bring into the state and revenue it would generate for our local businesses.
Also, the publicity it could bring to the state?
I will vote, it's only a click of the button.
Voted.
Detroit Hustles Harder.
Why haven't you just been banned? Take your negative nancy bullshit elsewhere.
Here's some more Detroit awesomeness you can find fault in.
I wanted to vote for Detroit....I really did.
But I just don't know if the city's ready to host it, and it's only going to help a very small subset of the population...all the venues are slated to be downtown. And in a city where a thriving middle class is all but essential to emerge from insolvency, I just can't throw my support behind an effort that may divert attention from the real challenges the city faces.
Since it won't benefit everyone, vote for Austin so it won't benefit anyone in Detroit. Solid.
I was aiming pretty low with that one.
Regardless of your views on Detroit, it's foot traffic, always good, and media exposure, which could give Detroit a unique opportunity to present itself, because despite all the challenges there's still plenty to love about Detroit. It will take a lot of work to move it forward, but stuff like this run by people who have a vested interest in the city can all be part of the process.
